"I cannot say enough good things about this company! First, we had them out to do some pre-inspection roof repairs on our home before we listed it for sale (so we wouldn't have any surprises later). I had called 4 roofers, and only RoofSavers came out on time, bid the work I requested, and sent a proposal within one day. After hiring them, they showed up on time and completed the work as promised. The next month, when it rained 4 days straight, we had a first-time-ever leak in our attic (which we attributed to having 4 roofing companies moving tiles and messing around up there a month before), and RoofSavers came out as a courtesy to do the simple fix. (It was not even an area they had worked on.) Problem solved! When our buyers had their own roof inspector out 2 months later and he listed general areas that he felt needed to be repaired--almost like he was trying to find SOMETHING to put in his report--RoofSavers stood by their initial inspection and the work they performed and prevented us from having anymore out-of-pocket expense. This company was polite on the phone, bent over backwards to help us in every situation, and had a good work ethic."

We have been absolutely thrilled with all the years of service from this company. I would not recommend another."

"After interviewing 5 residential roofers, I chose W & D Roofing & Contracting. It is a small, established Tucson family business who are licensed, bonded, insured, experienced, professional. Their roofing team is too. This was for replacing a 30+ year old flat roof. They tore off my old rotted roof, replaced the plywood base, increased the size of the scuppers to take rain off the roof quickly, gave it a slight pitch, added upper heat pump level drainage. They cleaned up and left my yard in pristine condition. My flat roof had been leaking before I moved into my house in 2019. This is my first house, so I was inexperienced in this whole process. And, they were the cheapest bid. No one had been able to fix it by patching, or sealing it. I had a tight timeline in mind of 2-1/2 weeks, and they fit me into their schedule. And, just in time. I have already had 5 rains on my new roof, and it is holding tight. No leaks/no worries. I highly recommend W & D!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

It’s always a good idea to have a lawyer review any legally binding contract before signing, including roofing contracts. Most contracts have straightforward language that’s easy to understand, but getting advice from an attorney before signing could save you from being locked into a contract you don’t want to move forward with. Having a lawyer review your contract can also help protect you if your roofing professional defaults on their side of the agreement.

In most cases, below 40 degrees Fahrenheit is too cold to replace a roof. The cold affects the shingles, making it more difficult to adhere them to your roof. It also becomes dangerous for contractors to get up on your roof in the cold weather, as there can be ice and slush causing surfaces to become slippery.

Proposals, invoices, and estimates are most often used as marketing documents and are not legally binding. Contracts are legally binding documents that detail the service offering, project considerations, and signatures from all parties. If you signed a proposal for discussion purposes while requesting a quote and you decide to hire your roofer, make sure the contracting party follows through with a legally binding contract to protect both parties.

Whether replacing the entire roof or just installing roof shingle replacements in small areas, always pull up the old roof shingles. While you can technically put new roof shingles (but not other roof materials) over old shingles, this can add weight strain to the roof and prevent the new shingles from securing properly to the roof.

The length of time you can leave a leaking roof before it causes damage will vary greatly depending on a variety of factors. The best approach when it comes to roof leaks is to play it safe and fix it as soon as possible, whether you take the DIY route or hire a roofing professional to inspect, diagnose, and repair the problem.
