"It's a pretty decent system, I think. They send you the pieces and you install them yourself, which is pretty easy. The only real problem I have is that one sensor is too far away from the panel...or there's some interference, and they haven't been able to fix that. It's an interior door, so it's not the end of the world, just a little annoying. Their customer service is pretty good though. Nice, smart customer service people on the other end, very polite and helpful."

"I recently hired 5 Stars Garage Doors LLC for general maintenance on my garage door, and I couldn't be happier with the service. From the moment I called to schedule an appointment, I was met with professionalism and friendliness. The technician arrived promptly, well within the scheduled window, and got straight to work. They performed a thorough inspection, lubricated all moving parts, and tightened loose bolts and screws. The difference was immediately noticeable; my garage door now operates smoothly and quietly. What stood out the most was the technicianâ s willingness to explain what he was doing and why it was important. This transparency built a lot of trust, and I feel confident in the longevity of my garage door now. The pricing was fair, and there were no surprise fees. I highly recommend 5 Stars Garage Doors LLC for any garage door maintenance needs. Their expertise and customer service truly set them apart from the competition."

Gas Fireplace Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can manually ignite a gas oven by turning on the gas supply and using a long match or lighter to ignite the gas at the oven’s burner. However, you should take great care to follow safety precautions and read the oven’s manual instructions; otherwise, you run the risk of causing a fire, explosion, or gas leak.

In most cases, it’s better to repair a gas fireplace than replace it. You’ll spend an average of $600 to repair your gas fireplace, whereas you’d spend between $2,500 and $5,000 replacing it. If you hire a gas fireplace professional for the repair, it should return in great working order and last for many years. You can always speak to your fireplace repair company about repairing vs. replacing if you need a handful of components repaired, as a replacement might make sense if there’s significant damage.

Appliance installation costs around $200 on average, and most installations total between $75 and $600. Some cost factors to consider that can increase your price toward the higher end of that range include the following:

  • You need to pay for long-distance delivery.

  • Your installers need to maneuver up or down stairs or around tight corners.

  • Your appliance needs to be connected to a natural gas line or water line.

  • Your appliance requires extra parts for a proper connection, like an ice maker hook-up kit.

  • Your appliance is oversized.

You’ll need to increase your budget. Since you will likely need a new outlet, factor in $120 to $200 for it. If your gas company needs to run a new gas line to your oven, expect a charge between $200 to $2,000.

There are a few scenarios when replacing all kitchen appliances simultaneously makes sense, including major renovations, moving into a new home, or purchasing as a set. If you want to refresh your kitchen upon move-in day or start over during a renovation, consider purchasing and replacing your kitchen appliances at once to save on labor costs. Also, if your appliances are all original to the home or are older and require increasing amounts of maintenance and repair, replacing them all at the same time may be a good option.
