"Very pleased with Skyline. Arrived promptly, did a thorough job- complete with massive cleanup. Skyline even found the perfect tree for me. Skyline advised me how to prepare soil for a future tree I will hire them to place, and how to care for the new tree they planted this time. Would definitely recommend."

"Luis and partner did a fine job. Luis is professional, efficient and knowledgeable. He answered promptly and then did the work promptly also. He cleaned up our back yard patio and trimmed trees in the front. All around good. He will come monthly to do maintenance."

"Customer service was excellent by everyone, in the 3 interactions I had with company personnel; The person I spoke to over the phone, the people in person providing the quote, and the workers who did the chopping and removal. The quote and work was scheduled quickly and flexible to my needs. They removed dangerous branches from a very high up eucalyptus tree using a bucket truck with a handful of workers who interacted like a good team as I watched from inside the house. They left nothing for me to clean up, they even swept the porch. I was relieved to have the dangerous branches removed from hanging over my house, especially before monsoon season when big dry branches have fallen on my roof and in the middle of the yard where my kids play. They gave much respect to me and my space. The project was faster than I anticipated so there wasn't noise all day long as I worked from home. I've received compliments about the tree. I'd recommend this company and I'll be using their services again. Thank you"

"P and C Tree Service has done all kinds of work for us: trimming our palm tree, yard maintenance, moving river rocks in our yard and covering our entire yard with pea gravel. They have also helped us move exercise equipment and boxes. They are very hard workers, very conscientious, personable, polite, and efficient. They go beyond what is expected. The prices they charge for their work are extremely reasonable. P and C Tree Service do excellent work and I highly recommend them to everyone. I do not think there is a job they will not or cannot do."

"This company worked hard removing 2 trees that fell in my backyard during a storm. They took out the trees and the stumps. They also removed some falling branches and trimmed the tree in my front yard. Cleaned the front and back yard when they were done. Loaded up the debris in 1 & 1/2 trailers and hauled it all away. All for a reasonable price. Overall, I would say their work was superb. The team worked very hard to get the job done. I would definitely recommend them for tree removal and tree trimming."

"Jose and his helper did an outstanding job. Worked very hard and removed/hauled away 8-10 large Agave (including roots) from my backyard. That is a huge job in 100 degree heat and the ground extremely hard! Clean up was very good. Friendly and extremely reasonable pricing. I would definitely hire him again and have already requested his assistance in removing a tree from my yard."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, cutting a tree's roots can cause it to fall, particularly if major support roots are severed. In extreme cases, trimming roots can affect the tree's structure and stability. Many crucial roots are located just below the soil's surface. If you make severe cuts to roots more than 2 inches in diameter, you risk impacting the tree's water flow and its ability to withstand severe winds or storms. Even cutting roots less than half an inch in diameter under or outside the tree's canopy can cut off its water supply, causing it to decline, die, and eventually topple.

Make sure the tree roots soak around a day before you dig the tree up for the transplant. Keep the roots wet while the tree is above ground. After the transplant is finished, provide consistent water every day for the first month or so. You don’t want to overwater the tree, but you do want to keep the roots wet so they can thrive in their new environment.

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.

State and local laws vary, but in most cases, you are allowed to trim any branches from your neighbor's tree that cross your property line. However, it's important to ensure you do not damage the overall health of the tree in the process. Removing branches incorrectly can jeopardize the health of the tree and could lead to you being on the hook to replace it.

It depends on the type of tree. Typically, late spring on the cusp of winter is ideal for trees about to emerge from dormancy and produce new buds. That said, late fall is ideal for certain deciduous trees prone to bleeding sap. Avoid trimming trees in early spring, when they’re prone to disease.
