"Castro was very punctual and flexible on times. His crew was able to trim back my trees that hung over the house. They were very respectful of the house and lawn. They did take away the limbs I did not want to keep. I will hire them again to take down a tree in the front yard."

"Elijah and his helper showed up when they said they would. Cut the broken limbs out of my tree, and then cut them all up and put them in their truck. Then they raked up the entire front yard and got all the little broken sticks and leaves. These guys did a really good job and I would definitely hire them again for any tree work."

"We had Josh and two of his team come out for a full day with a skid steer to remove multiple problematic trees on our small acreage. Adding the skid steer to the package was a GREAT value, enabling the quick, precision removal of several large oak trees that encroached our house and septic system. Tree Problem Solvers also removed unsightly jack pine trees, as well as gum trees that suppressed growth of desirable hickory trees and made walking our slopes dangerous (gumballs). We now have a clean slate in our front yard, allowing intentional placement of fruit trees and garden areas. Our roof is also now cleared of overhanging shade, accommodating future installation of a rooftop solar panel system. As trees were removed, the TPS crew constantly tended the resulting burn pile to promote safe and efficient disposal. Amazingly, the burn pile of about 20 mature trees was so well stacked that, 2 days later, it is 95% consumed, leaving us an excellent quantity of wood ash for gardening just when we can use it. We kept a felled hickory for our smoker, and the felled oaks for our neighbor, and Josh used the skid to place the trimmed-up trunks where they'd be convenient for us to process ourselves over the next weekend. Tree Problem Solver's day rate (including skid rental) was VERY competitive, and they gave a full day's work with dedication and a good attitude. I understand that neighbor is having TPS out to her place next week, and quite a few others were admiring the work being done throughout the day they were here at our place. I highly recommend them, especially if you need a LOT of work done in one day."

"Cabel and crew did a great job. The trees were topped off and all limbs and debris was hauled off. Most impressed with the clean they did after finished with the tree trimming. The trees had not been done for at least 8 years. I have used before and will continue to use. Always a great job."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Grinding down a tree helps reduce the risk of foundation damage and pests and even helps your home’s curb appeal. Stumps can also be a safety hazard. If grass grows above the stump and someone else mows your yard, they may be in for a rude awakening when they accidentally hit it.

It’s possible to transplant trees as tall as 50 feet when an experienced tree planting service uses the right equipment. However, a tree with a trunk larger than two or three inches in diameter needs to be handled by a professional in order to yield successful transplanting results. Consulting a tree planting professional is the best way to tell if your large tree can be safely transplanted.

Generally, homeowners do not need permission to cut down a tree on their own private property, but there are several exceptions where a permit may be required. You might need a permit if the tree is particularly large, old, or a protected species, such as a heritage tree. Trees located near public property or power lines can also be subject to special rules. Additionally, many local governments and homeowners associations (HOAs) have regulations controlling which trees can be removed to manage an area's appearance or prevent the spread of invasive species. To avoid hefty fines, it is crucial to check with your local government and HOA to determine if a permit is needed before you begin.

Though summer is not ideal, you can do some light pruning during this time of year. Just make sure it’s not excessive. Vigorous pruning will stress the tree and impact next year’s growth. Generally, August to September are the best summer-pruning months, particularly for fruit trees.

Only trim palm trees as needed, which is usually about once per year. However, don't stick to that schedule if the palm tree doesn't need it. Avoid trimming palm trees when possible. It’s best to trim palm trees only when you notice a buildup of dead fronds. That said, leave the brown fronds during the dormant season because this organic matter helps protect the tree from the cooler weather.
