"First of all I wish any issues were brought up in a timely manner. We performed work for you on May 2,2014. This review is dated March 17,2016 almost two years after the fact. In response to punctuality when the job was quoted on April 14,2014 it was clearly stated on the written estimate we were 2 weeks +/- out. We were hindered on scheduling by your request of work could only be scheduled on a Friday as well as bad weather. We completed the work 2 weeks and 4 days after the estimate. Due to wet conditions we did not use out bucket truck to be certain we did not put any ruts in your yard. All work was done to the specifications on the written work order by An ISA Certified Arborist And ISA certified climber specialist. These trees had been severely topped in the past and the damage from that improper work is irreparable. Our work was to aid in the trees recovery and reduce risk of failure as much as possible without further damaging the trees following ANSI A300 Tree care standards. It was explained that with the trees condition they will need further care to try to rehabilitate their health. We also gave you the 5% Angieslist discount even in absence of the coupon. It was our understanding that you were happy when we left. No phone calls or emails have been made to us to indicate any issues."
Everything went fine, except there was a 'mystery cable' that was cut during stump grinding that had not been revealed during the utility locate. Jeremy very promptly got the cable company out to rectify the situation, and kept me apprised by phone of everything that was going on. He checked back two days later to make sure that everything was fine with the cable.
They brought a large bucket truck to get about 30 feet up the oak. The very large truck was a tight fit in my very narrow driveway, yet they managed to miss every single hosta in the bed by the drive. A pet dogwood overhangs the driveway, and they pulled back its branches to not break any on the way in. One guy got up in the bucket, and cut the offending oak branch from the end, four feet at a time, and lowered each carefully via a block and tackle tied to another branch. Had I paid them to do so, they would have hauled off the pieces, but as we burn wood, we asked them to leave the mess. They made a tidy pile of the branch (a foot thick in some places) next to the drive, even taking time to pull bits out of what passes for our lawn.
I chose these folks mostly because they live close to us, and know the woods and weather patterns here. They would know, therefore, how a bad oak might fall in a storm. I asked for a quick diagnosis of a couple of other trees killed recently by borers. Of those trees, they said that one would fall clear of the house and that the other probably wouldn't fall at all. I tell you this because they could have soaked us for two more trees, but they didn't.
I did not grade price because I have no idea what this kind of work costs. I just went with these guys and paid the $730. It doesn't seem high to me. There were, after all, three guys and a bucket truck.
Very happy with their work. As they left, Jeremy said, "Hope we don't see you real soon." He meant that in the kindest possible way, wishing us healthy trees for the foreseeable future.
The job was done quickly and they cleaned up afterwards. They did great job. I highly recommend them if you need a very professional and knowledgeable tree trimming service. I will be calling on them again.
"Thank you! People like you are my favorite kind of customer. Who want to take care of their trees right for the long haul. Congrats on the new house!"
"Thanks! It is a beautiful place you have and glad to help you keep it that way!"
"Thank you! No more "tree noises" on the gutter!! Appreciate the good review."
"Thank you! Your attitude toward your tree was a breath of fresh air. Give them the best chance we can give them and let them live as nature intended!"
