"I got a quote a while back for a unit and they quoted me in the 6-7k range when my AC working. Recently we had a weekend emergency and I ask for another quote (I had decided I would replace the unit) the cost jumped to 11k (since we were having issues with our unit) They sent a tech out and he fried my Compressor (admitted it to my face) then told me he would get me a quote on a new compressor and left (this was on a Sat, the quote couldn’t come till Monday) not long after the downstairs unit (2 years old) wasn’t cooling (he was called out on the upstairs unit) we called them and they couldn’t send anyone out till then next day. We tried someone else and the nice guy came out immediately! The Air Now tech had fried the breaker to the downstairs unit. The man from the other company fixed it and quoted me on a new unit $7,500.00. He didn’t charge me for coming out on a Saturday at 7 pm, and he went up in the attic and answered a ton of questions we had about making it more energy efficient. His company is installing our new upstairs unit today and he has my business from now on. It’s my opinion that the sales rep from Air Now jacked the cost of the new ac up and then the tech made sure my old one was done for. That’s my opinion and I can’t prove it, but the fact look that way. They refused to fix the compressor without charging me $2,500 for the job, even though the tech admitted to my face he fried the compressor."
