"If I could give this company a 0 I would. They treated my yard with what they said was pet safe products and within 12 hours of treatment 1 of of dogs got very sick. Then every 4 days each of my 5 dogs got very sick costing thousands in vet bills. The only changes in our household was them treating our property. I called right away and told them I didn't want to have them come out again. Then 2 months later they call and said that they are going to charge me canceling without notice which I told them I didn't want them to come out again. He was threatening me on the phone. Trying to force me to say "yes" to treating my property. Then said to prove it was his product that made my dogs ill. They don't do toxicology on dogs that I know of and 2 months later! Now they want me to pay them for a service I don't want or received. DON"T USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS!"

12 years of experience

Established in 2013. After being in the industry for years and with multiple companies, the owners decided to break lose from big corporations and build their own small business. After college, they took all the good and the bad they learned along the way to create Alta. The owners are brothers who were taught honesty, hard work, and serving others by their parents. They are excited to bring these traits to a business level and provide superior service to the residents of King County.

"The sales man was very good, he has a very well rehearsed speech and I essentially signed up for a year of pest control. Someone was supposed to show up Friday afternoon to come and take a look at the house, I made a lot of special provisions for them to come and look up the damage in my house, in the kitchen and in the attic. Basically, they didn't show up and there's no one to contact. I told him I was very upset and I am not gonna work with them any further, then today I got an email, not apologizing for not showing up and they said they didn't show up because it was too dark and that they need to reschedule. They basically failed to communicate with me with the appointment status and just didn't show up and I'm not working with them any further."

Got Moles is a family owned and operated mole control service located in Enumclaw Washington. At Got Moles we specialize in moles and only moles. This has allowed us to become experts at the art of getting rid of moles from your yard.

"Spencer is great to work with. I had a mole that was "trap shy" and he was able to bring in different types of traps to get the mole. Moles are tricky and you shouldn't expect 100% success rate of removal but in my case Spencer kept working the problem until it was done."

Guardian Roofing was founded on one basic principal. Focus on helping people solve their problems. This sounds elementary. But if it is, why do so many Puget Sound homeowners have so many bad contractor experiences?

FAQs for pest control projects in Seattle, WA

Different pest control methods exist to help mitigate an infestation. Not every technique will work with every pest, which is why speaking with a pest control expert is crucial to taming your problem. Different methods of pest removal include:

  • Heat treatments

  • Freezing treatments

  • Traps

  • Barriers

  • Diatomaceous earth

  • Chemical pesticides

  • Fumigation

  • Rodenticides

  • Mechanical devices

  • Repellants

The cost of pest control is $175 for the average homeowner. However, you could spend as little as $100 or as much as $500 or more, depending on the infestation size, the number of visits you need, and the pest you’re exterminating.

For example, if you need to rid your home of spiders, you’ll likely be spending between $100 and $300. However, if you have a termite problem, you can expect a bill of $230 to $2,500 or more, depending on the infestation size and damage caused.

There are specific methods for pest removal that you can DIY without hiring an expert. If you are preventing pests from making an appearance or clearing out a small infestation of harmless insects, you will likely have success on your own. However, if you’re dealing with pests that eat wood, bedbugs, or other pests that carry a disease risk, like rodents, it’s always worth it to call a pest professional to help you.

Even if you’re not immediately showing signs of pests, it’s a good idea to get into the habit of routine pest control. This should be done yearly, quarterly, bi-monthly, or monthly, depending on your location and if any signs of infestation are already present. For example, if you live by water, you might experience more pests in the spring and summer than someone who lives in a dry climate. Discuss treatment options with your pest professional to determine a suitable schedule for you and your home.

While not every infestation is preventable, there are some actions you can take to minimize the risk of running into these pests in your home. These actions include:

  • Keeping your home tidy. This includes vacuuming regularly, sanitizing your kitchen, storing food in airtight containers, disposing garbage regularly, and keeping your home clutter-free.

  • Deep clean at least twice a year. Deep cleaning neglected crevices and corners of your home can help prevent breeding grounds from forming.

  • Repairing your home when needed. If your home has cracks or holes, you have an open invitation for pests to come in. Remove any standing water and seal any gaps in your floors, walls, and foundation.

  • Cleaning up your yard. Keep shrubbery and branches well-trimmed and away from your home. Remove fallen leaves and other debris.

  • Be smart with storage. If you use firewood, store it away from the home (at least 20 feet away if possible) and off of the ground.
