"They gave me an estimate for $15000 which I agreed to. On the day the work was done, I was told that additional “base stabilization” was needed because of an area where my driveway had been washing and that they would have to order $5000 more asphalt to fill that in, or else the results would be bad. This washed area was clearly visible when the original estimate was made and should have been included in the initial price. The truth is that they had plenty of asphalt initially, but they sold some of my asphalt to my next-door neighbor to pave his driveway because they told him they brought too much asphalt to my job. Then they put on a hard sell to me, telling me that I needed to buy more asphalt to get a reasonable job done. Effectively they charged two different people for the same asphalt. While the work was pretty good and the workers seemed courteous, I think their business practices are definitely shady. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone, and I don't think much of Angi for recommending them. The uploaded picture shows the neighbor's driveway which they paved with part of my initial load of asphalt."

"Collins Paving did a new asphalt driveway June 2022 for $15,000. The install it was a major headache. Jerry complained entire time- about me, my driveway, the job, even his crew's work ethic. That fall of 2022 the driveway developed ponding in three large areas. I left emails, phone messages and never got a response. On May 5, 2023, I contacted them to seal the driveway (per their instructions at install). They responded right away. When they came out to seal, July 16, 2023, I explained the problem and was told to 'call the office'. I called weekly for 2 months. Finally, on September 9 Jerry and Steve came over and were quite confrontational with me. It was very uncomfortable, but I bit my tongue because I wanted it addressed. In the end, they both acknowledged the issues and recommended I have them address it in the spring and give 'one more winter'. I started calling & emailing in late March 2024. I finally got an appt in August. I waited all day until 4pm, made several calls the 'office' (no one answered). When I called the following week to inquire about my appt., Shauna said that Jerry and Steve came over and no one was home. Not true. Since then, I've called again and again and it's the same response from Shauna. "I'll let them know'. When i ask when I can expect a follow up, I'm told, 'I'm not sure, they are on other jobs'. I've kept track of how many times I've called and its over 30 times. They have no interest in talking to me. Shauna answers the phone and takes another message. At this point, less that 3 years after install, my driveway is sinking, cracks are forming, and I am forced to get resolution through 3rd parties. All I wanted was help figuring this out and I was hoping we could work this out together but I’m being ignored. I would avoid Collins Paving. There is so much more I could share."

"I was quoted a price of $7,700 for the project it finished up being $10,200 because extra was work needed to complete the work. I had other quotes for the project but went with this because it was the less costly but it turned out to be more costly that the other quotes !! I didn't get the chance to dispute the problem because P & M had already started digging up my driveway before the problem was identified, so I had to have them complete it. In my opinion the problem could have been identified at the quote stage,(It was a leveling problem) when the guy from P & M quoted the original cost it was $10,200 but when I said it was over the costs of my other lowest quote of $7,900 he changed his quote to $7,700 to get the job and low and behold it went back the original $10,200 when this problem was identified. Also I am still awaiting a copy of the extra cost quote of $2,500 from P & M."
