Recent Fence Company Reviews in Madison

  • Leading Edge Fences LLC
The overall experience was excellent. From the moment they came for the initial consultation, from the follow up service that was needed when I changed my mind about the fence requirements and they had to re-do the quote, to when they handled all the paperwork seamlessly that Veridian Homes requires, they were always pleasant and responsive. The timelines they gave for all aspects of the fence materials, construction, and follow up service were accurate and met. I was very happy with the appearance of the fence afterwards. It was beautiful. I did not shop other competitors for pricing, but I believe for the quality of the job and materials and the labor involved it seem to be a more than reasonable price. Update in 2022: There was a strong wind that blew furniture off of my neighbor's patio and also separated part of a panel of my fence. I had requested that some adjustments be made and they answered my call and said they would be out within a week! 7 years after the initial installation!! They could not be a better company to do business with, both during and after the sale

  • Alonso Landscape Service LLC
Alonso Landscaping was the only company to respond promptly to my inquiry. Their quote was reasonable and I chose them to replace a deteriorating retaining wall. They showed up when promised and the job took two days. I was very impressed with the employee they sent over, Armando. He was considerate, a very hard worker and explained everything about what he was doing. He was thorough and the wall looks amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend them to you. If the owner reads this, Armando worked his butt off to make it look good. I will definitely use this company again

  • F7 Enterprise LLC
I hired F7 to fix my about-to-fall-down cedar fence. I didn’t want to replace it; I liked the weathered look and the only thing rotten was the 20+ year old posts. The same team that estimated my project performed the work, which I liked a lot. They did a great job with minimal damage to my yard (if any). They were creative in maximizing reuse of the original boards, and only replaced what was necessary with new materials. They were friendly and offered great communication. I would hire them again

  • Alonso Landscape Service LLC
They were able to do what we wanted at a lower price. They are probably not as high quality as a couple of the others that we got bids from but they did a very nice job and it was within our budget. They were able to do the work quickly. They installed a very nice looking patio. They did a careful job on the grating. We also liked how the fence turned out

  • Alonso Landscape Service LLC
Alonso Landscaping did a great job with spring clean-up, installing a new bed, and fixing our fence. I could not be happier!

  • Ridge Top Exteriors Inc
All the work went very well. They were prompt and efficient. They came on the days they said they would, and finished when they said they would. I have no complaints about their work ethic.

Excellent job! Our new fence looks amazing. No hidden cost or delays. Couldn't of went smoother.

  • Acer Landscaping LLC
Nate and his team installed a privacy cedar fence in my back yard. The design and look was custom tailored to fit with work from a previous owner. It's been a little over a year since the installation and everything has held up beautifully. I highly recommend their work.

  • DRH Fencing LLC
DRH was very responsive and punctual. They were flexible in giving me two quotes for two different options for the same project. I wasn't sure if I just wanted to replace the damaged chain link or replace the fence with a privacy fence. I requested two quotes and got both back promptly. Then, when I was ready to move forward, I made a simple deposit so that they could order materials. Shortly after, they simply showed up, did the work, and sent me the invoice. Everything was incredibly easy, the work was well done, and it caused me no stress at all

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
