We requested a repair estimate from this company through the Whirlpool Company for our Whirlpool Electric Clothes Dryer. Whirlpool made the appointment for us and informed us that their database indicated that Betty's did not charge a fee for estimates, but when they came to do our estimate, they handed us a bill. Seems they didn't bother to update the Whirlpool database when their policy changed and were surprised that Whirlpool was reporting what they called "false information". In truth, Whirlpool was only reporting the information Betty's provided them. When I called Betty's to tell them I would not be paying, they said they would turn us over to a collection agency, so we paid the bill. We didn't want them putting a lean on our home. Only after contacting Betty's, the BBB and Whirlpool multiple times did we get our money back...but guess what? Betty's didn't give us a refund, Whirlpool did!!! Whirlpool values customer satisfaction, Betty's does not. They did respond to the BBB, but not favorably. After the estimator pulled the top of the dryer off to see the electronics, he determined an expensive piece needed to be replaced because it was not making contact all the time. He quoted over $300 for the repair. Once he left, the dryer worked fine and has been working fine ever since. I think something just worked loose and when he removed the cover, whatever wasn't making contact before, righted itself. Seems we didn't need that expensive part after all!
