First day May 31st, started late. Project Mgr Rick Priest on time; helper late. Previous employee who used trailer didn't clean out properly; no ice or water in cooler; had to send helper to store. Was able to finish all except install of vent wells on day 1 because wrong size wells were loaded on truck. 2nd day, June 1; Rick Priest finished job in the AM as agreed. Although job lasted 2 and not 1 day, I assume( I did not inspect crawl space; but it took 5-6 hours work for both men to finish work under house) all was professionally performed. Project Manager Rick Priest is a professional, well spoken; respectful young man. He is to return for a free follow up inspection in about 3 months; at which time I will post again. Project Manager Rick Priest visited June 17th and installed rat station under tree. He also installed one more rat station in the crawl space. Every thing looks good

See above of course. I am extremely satisfied with this entire experience, from the initial contact with AHS, to the actual repairs by Arctic Hand C. The AHS rep was very helpful and empathetic when talking to my wife who placed the initial call. Arctic Hand C was responsive and efficient, letting us know when to expect the tech and calling ahead before his arrival, despite the fact that it is the hottest period yet this year! I ESPECIALLY appreciate Craig Smith who FAR EXCEEDED my expectations for both competence and congeniality. He went above and beyond what some previous techs have done on various repair calls on other household equipment, including A/C. As noted, he could have made it a 15 minute service call based on replacing the capacitor. That wasn't good enough for this HVAC PROFESSIONAL, he took the time to figure out why the capacitor malfunctioned, explained it to me thoroughly, and quoted a reasonable price without any sales pressure. I feel confident that the work performed was done efficiently, correctly, and at reasonable cost. Overall EXCELLENT experience without exception! If I need any other HVAC service, I will definitely request Arctic Hand C and specifically Craig Smith as the service technician!!! The home warranty is $12.50 a month and I pay no service charge. I've had the service now for 10 years and it has been everything they've ever advertised. With everything I do with them - I do sewer, electric, gas, water heater, I just recently added by home appliances - it's worth the money because with very few exceptions, the HVAC and the hot water heater being the two, there is no service charge

I pay a monthly fee to them. I found that they had the most reasonable coverage for the annual amount. Their deductible has steadily increased over the years, but it's still reasonable. It's home warranty. They just offer that to anyone who owns a house. You can just basically buy that annually like insurance. It cover things like if the motor on the HVAC unit goes out. They come in and see that it needs a replacement part or it needs to be replaced. The contractor that they have chosen will replace the part. You only have to pay $100, that's basically like your deductible and then the company authorizes all the rest of the work up to a certain amount. They're not the actual ones that respond. The contractors that they have sent to me have been very responsive. It's kind of like health insurance. The price always goes up and the coverage seems to go down. So each year I'm evaluating whether or not I'm going to continue to use them

Another red flag was that the contractor assigned to the claim does not have a BBB report even though the BBB has requested a report. The myriad complaints about HMS on the web are worth reading

America's 1st Choice Home Warranty

I was told that because I HAD NOT gotten a yearly Maintenance Service done on my Air Conditioning Unit, America's 1st Choice would not send anyone out to look at it and that there would be no claim set up. I told them that I was not aware that I needed to get a yearly Maintenance Service done on my Air Conditioning Unit (it's less than 5 years old). They responded by saying that I was told when first setting up my Home Warranty contract a year ago; and that it was in my contract. They also mentioned that an email went out to all of their customers reminding them to do this Home Maintenance in the beginning of the summer. I told them that it was NOT brought to my attention when I first accepted their yearly contract. Also, that NO email was sent out to me in the beginning of this summer! Since I paid my contract amount of $495.00 in total up front AND that until this problem occurred, I had NOT EVER called them for anything, I was hopeful that they would be able to accommodate and work with me somehow. The head of the Claims Department, Karen, actually put me on hold for over a half an hour before I realized that she had no intention of speaking with me! I realize that I should've seen the fine print on the contract, but this requirement of a Home Maintenance Service is new to me. I was with American Home Shield for 9 years and they never required it. I feel that it should've been CLEARLY brought to my attention before I signed on with America's 1st Choice! I am disgusted with the customer service I experienced with the Claims Department! No workable attempt was made with me to compromise, accommodate, or resolve this problem even though I had been a model client

The only thing good about the appointment was the technician was on time. After 2 FULL minutes of the technician looking at the thermostat he said it was operator error because the hold icon was not pushed. All winter long it has never been pushed and worked perfectly. However I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He said if you have any problems please call the office and we will replace the thermostat. This was at 3 on a Friday. February 12th 2021. I called the office within 30 minutes of him leaving my house and left a voicemail hoping to get a call back before the Long Cold weekend. No call back thermostat working erratically. House cold. Call office first thing Monday morning left my name and phone number three times no call back. Called again at 9 a.m. some NOTE TAKER lady told me the reason why no one called back was because I did not leave my phone number. I corrected her and reminded her that I did leave my phone number and she said she is not going to apologize because she is busy. They could come out tomorrow if I'd like. I said absolutely not.... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or MONEY on this JOKE of a COMPANY. If they decide to check their messages they might call you back.

These people don't cover anything. I have been in my house less than 2 months. I was told I needed a warranty so that if anything goes wrong within the first year I could have it repaired. The first time I called them was because the overflow in the bathroom sink did not work. When the water got up to the overflow, it ran on the floor. They told me on the phone without sending a contractor or plumber that the don't cover it. The second time I called them was because of the air condition didn't work. The sent a contractor which cost me $65.00 to be told they don't cover that either. I am now faced with a $2,600.00 repair bill. Thanks for the coverage 2-10

"I've actually used Wave Motion Pools twice. The first time was last summer (2019) for an above ground pool install and the second time was this summer for equipment repair. Both times I was extremely happy with their service. Their most outstanding attribute (imo) is their work ethic! They truly want to help people and aren't out just to gouge us for every cent they can get. Their prices are fair and they have gone above and beyond to help me out. Greg was super knowledgeable about all aspects, from the install, to the equipment, to common problems in our area (I'm my case pungo). His communication is also fantastic. They have always responded to my messages within no later than a day but usually within an hour or so. If something came up and they couldn't make it when he said they would, he always let me know before they were due to be here. This is a great company to work with. "I saw American Residential Warranty advertised on TV for about the 10th time. I never paid any attention to it before because we had one. I started thinking about it and I looked and I thought I had put that information in my cell phone and I had. They were still advertising and they had a special on top of their normal. Oh my goodness it was such a good deal. It was so much cheaper than anybody else. You are not under a contract for a full year, you can cancel it at anytime. You can use your existing people, like if you have a plumber that you love, you can use him. It was just almost too good to be true. I kept asking her questions. Another good thing was that they cover stuff like garage door openers, which most of them don't. They cover ice makers and refridgerators which most of them don't. I was just bowled over. We haven't used them yet, we just signed up with them. By purchasing a full year we got 2 free months. And we have that option for the rest of our lives, to have it at the price we purchased originally and if we pay yearly we get the 2 free months from now on. That is almost unbelievable. I will let you know if I have any problems with them but right now I am very happy with them. If we cancel we get the prorated amount back. There was nothing that scared us about going ahead an using them. Just dealing with them on the phone, the woman was very knowledgeable, she answered all of my questions. I talked to her off and on for about 4 days. I would say, well, my husband wanted me to ask about this and my husband wanted me to ask about that. She knew, she didn't have to go ask somebody. They seemed to have their act together.
