"Was really surprised he came two or three hours after I called. He said he's been plumbing for 35 years, so he knew exactly what to do. He used quality (and very pricy, I think there is a 100% markup) materials, said this should last about 10 years. The old lasted 30 years. One of my neighbors got this same thing done in plastic, and it too will probably last 10 years. Don't think I came out ahead on that one. He was prompt, courteous, and cleaned up after himself for the most part. He used my basement bathroom when I wasn't looking and did not (or forgot) to flush the toilet. UGH! Be aware that he does NOT offer the 10% senior discount this website says he does. That discount was a large part of why I called this particular plumber. He says he charges less than some other companies. Labor was approximately $100.00 an hour. That other companies charge more may or may not be true, from what I know, but I felt I had been bait-and-switched. If this is a consideration for you, you may want some other plumber. And I think Angie's List might want to note this somewhere as well. I would not hire this plumber again in spite of his positive points because of the above, mainly the huge bill at the end. "

Bison Country Inc. was established January 1st, 2020 with the idea that we would slowly build multiple construction companies, one for each trade. The idea is to bring together the best and most knowledgeable personnel under one roof so that we can better serve the community with out the hassle of going through third parties and sub-contractors. We currently have Bison Builders Inc. our general contracting company, Bison Mechanical Inc. our plumbing company, Bison Excavation Inc. our excavation company, Bison Electrical Inc. our electrical company, and Bison Landscaping Inc. our land scaping company. We are currently working on getting all of the companies up and running, it is a slow process as of right now Bison Builders Inc, Bison Mechanical Inc, and Bison Excavation Inc. are the companies that currently have the capacity to take on projects of varying sizes. We are 100% family and veteran owned and though it may seem like we are big we are very much a small business trying to survive in this ever changing world. Our goal is to offer the best service to our clients hands down, most companies focus on a few different areas when it comes to their services, they either want the best service or the best product, but we want to be the best at everything, the best customer service, the best product, the most honest, when we finish your project whatever that may be we want to leave you with only one word to say. WOW!!!! We want that to sum up the entirety of your experience with any of companies. And we will absolutely strive to meet that expectation in every way we can.
Installation typically takes 1-2 hours. Repairs may require additional time, depending on the issue.
Adding another bathroom isn’t the most complicated project you can undertake, but it’s in the top 5%. Anything involving plumbing and electrical work should be handed off to a pro, and adding a half bath involves both. A contractor may charge $70to$120 an hour for labor, but chances are they can work much faster and more accurately than a DIYer.
Usually it’s fine to leave a toilet clogged overnight, as long as it’s not close to overflowing. In some cases, the extra time may give the clog time to work itself out. For example, if it’s caused by an excess of toilet paper, letting it sit could result in the clog dissolving and you may be able to simply flush it away by the time you wake up.
Only let it sit though if you have more than one toilet in the home.
The cost to install a new toilet typically runs from $225 to $530. This doesn’t include the price of the toilet itself, which can cost $90 to $1,500 depending on the model and features you choose. You can save money if you choose to install a toilet yourself. However, you might want to hire a pro for this project.
"Due to the many complexities of replacing a toilet flange, it is typically a job best left to the pros," says Jeff Botelho, Angi Expert Review Board member and plumber. "Many times it isn't as simple and straightforward as 'pop off the old one and pop on a new one' because the flange is either glued on (PVC/ABS), soldered on (brass/copper), or caulked in place with a lead & oakum joint (cast iron) and none of these things can be easily reversed without years of training and repetitive practice."
Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.
