Because concrete is porous, installing flooring directly onto the surface is not a good idea. In most cases, you’ll need to install at least a moisture barrier between the concrete and the flooring you choose.

There are many types of carpet, but nylon carpet with short loops tends to be the most durable type as it resists stains and holds up against wear and fading. In terms of longevity, frieze or Berber carpet are also excellent choices that can last up to 20 to 25 years, which is longer than most other types of carpet.
