"Kevin called promptly, explained his services, gave me an estimate, scheduled promptly (within the same week). Called the day before to confirm appt. Called early morning of appt to tell us he was on his way. Once he arrived, he was very cordial, explaining what he was doing every step of the way. Answered all our questions/concerns. Proceeded to complete the cleaning quickly and efficiently, inside the house and also up on roof to inspect and re-seal the outside portion of chimney. Took approx. 2 hrs. He cleaned up all his tools and equipment and when he left, we had a sparkling clean wood stove and chimney---ready for winter. Highly recommend this young man for all your chimney needs."

A fireplace can take anywhere from a few hours to several weeks to remodel, depending on the complexity of the project. You can turn a red brick white through a process called whitewashing. Whitewash isn’t a stain but rather is made from water and white latex paint. Adding more water to the mix will make the solution look lighter when applied, and adding more paint will make it look more white.

You should use an angled brush to first paint the mortar lines, then go in with a high-density roller to evenly paint the bricks one at a time. You can also use a flat paintbrush to paint individual bricks, but a roller is faster and easier to use thanks to its longer handle and wider surface area for coating the bricks.
