We had the work done in May and they are still keeping my money as of August. If they change the work order do not pay the full amount unless you get a new contract. I made the mistake of trusting them."

An overlay normally involves a thicker layer of new concrete over the old slab, which can last longer and add structural integrity to the old concrete. Resurfacing involves a thinner layer of concrete or resurfacing material and is for cosmetic upgrades only.

How often you should resurface your pool deck depends on its material and condition. Concrete pool decks should be resurfaced every two to five years. Decks that are exposed to harsh heat and UV light may need to be sealed more often than ones that are mostly shaded.
