"Matt repaired a few areas of drywall in our ceiling that had been damaged by a leak and along the edges of some walls. He arrived on time, every time. The care he took with keeping the dust and debris down was outstanding. His repair looked excellent as well. I wouldn’t hesitate calling him again."

"Mr. Cantrell did an awesome job on repairing ceiling drywall in a bathroom and bedroom. I also had him paint both those rooms plus another bedroom. He repaired the ceilings, mud, sanded and prepped the ceilings and wall for paint. He used good quality Sherwin Williams paint. Work was completely done on time and I do not have any negatives about his work or person. I will be hiring him again for additional work."

If you only have tiny holes in your drywall (for example, dents or nail marks), you probably won’t need a patch kit. Instead, you can plug the hole with a small amount of spackle. Once the spackle dries, you can sand the area and paint over it—just like you would in the steps outlined above.

It’s highly recommended to use studs for a TV mount. The last thing you want is to be watching your favorite show when the TV falls off the wall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.

However, one of the best tools for drywall when you need to make exact cuts for an outlet box quickly is a drywall saw. This handheld tool has a longer blade than a utility knife, so it penetrates the thickness of the drywall easily. The design of its handle and the teeth in its blade make it easier to control while cutting quicker than you can with a utility knife.

Furring strips, thin strips of wood or metal, are not always required for ceiling drywall installation. If the ceiling surface is even and in good condition, drywall can be directly attached to the ceiling joists using screws. However, furring strips become essential when dealing with irregular surfaces or when additional insulation or soundproofing is needed. They create a level substrate for attaching the drywall.
