"Elliott does great work for a great price. He installed a new 100 amp breaker box and updated some of the house wiring to accommodate the new service. He also wired the newly renovated basement with all the wiring and installed all the outlets, switches and drop ceiling LED lights that have dimmer capability. He is meticulous in what he does."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

"Chris is a a real consonant professional who really knows what he is doing. Very well priced. He gives discounts for non-profit organizations. Works by remote which is very convenient, especially for people like me that don't live close to his office in Milwaukee. He was also the first computer technician that answered my request for services on Angie/Handy Man. He responded quickly. He made himself available on a Sunday which was also Labor Day weekend! Very unexpected., definitely not the norm! His demeanor is wonderful. Very patient, kind, considerate, respectful,. He tries to also be informative. He explains things so you'll have more knowledge if you need the same service again. I cannot do him justice without totally recommending him to anyone needing an excellent computer specialist/technician!! I will definitely be using him again. I have a small Clinical Counseling Practice, and he understood the quick timing that was necessary. He absolutely checks all the boxes! I have a small Clinical Practice and he understood that time was very important to me to get the work I needed done quickly for my business to run smoothly. Thank you Chris. It was such a nice experience working with you. I highly recommend that no one hesitates to contact you for any related computer issues!!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Incorrectly wiring a single-pole switch results in the connected light or device not turning on or tripping the circuit breaker. Although it doesn't matter which terminal the hot wire and the load wire connect to, mixing up a circuit wire with a ground or having loose connections can prevent the switch from working.

Daisy-chaining refers to placing multiple GFCI outlets in a row along the same circuit. This won’t do any harm, but it’s of limited usefulness because a properly-placed GFCI can monitor all downstream outlets on its own. Multiple GFCI installations won’t usually increase safety except in special cases.

Yes, it’s possible to use a three-way switch as a two-way switch. You can use a three-way switch as a two-way switch by bypassing one of the traveler wires and using only one of the available traveler switch terminals.

A correctly installed 3-way switch will not trip a breaker. If using a 3-way switch trips your circuit breaker, the ground wire might be touching something it should not be, there could be a short in the wiring, a wire could be loose, or the wrong wires are connected to the wrong locations on the switch. If you cannot easily see the problem, such as a loose wire, contact an electrician to fix the issue.

To ensure batteries stop charging when they’re full, you’ll need to install a charge controller that determines when the battery is full. Once the battery is fully charged, the charge controller will stop the energy flow or divert the energy to the grid or other appliances. Without a charge controller, the battery may continue to charge, which can lead to less productivity and potential damage.
