"I had Kegonsa plumb a 1/2 bathroom a couple of months ago and they were fantastic. However, I wanted to leave another glowing review. I contacted Lucas on very short notice for a quote surrounding a home inspection - he came out after an hour and got the written quote back to me overnight. I would consider this above and beyond and would recommend working with them to anyone!"

"We were satisfied with the outcome of our retaining wall project. It took a little longer than we initially anticipated, but in the end, the final quality of the work was worth it. They installed two block walls, replaced and updated our downspout drainage system, and fixed the fence gate that sits behind one of the walls. They were friendly throughout."

"Hired Tyler Moore architect to design a moderately sized detached garage, 26W x 28 L. I sent Tyler my mock-ups and sketches and he took over to design the garage. Tyler verified all of the zoning, building codes, and other requirements so I would not have any issues building the garage. The garage design was perfect, the garage build is underway August 2026. Tyler pulled permit as well. In addition, a bazillion calls were necessary to Tyler during the garage build to help me wade through the minutiae while the guys were building the garage. Tyler checked even more specs for those questions and provided confirmation for my questions. The cost structure is superb by all means. I ave an additional construction project of an R2 property pending in the next year or two. Tyler will be on board for that project. You may hire Tyler in confidence and be assured of a high quality architectural design for any project. Astounding support before, during, and after. Thank you Tyler again!"

Architects questions, answered by experts

Get prepared to meet with an architect by having a clear idea of what you’re looking for, a list of questions to ask, and as many project details as you can provide. The more information you can provide and receive from a prospective architect will help you decide who to hire.

A designer is a great choice for remodeling projects that don’t require significant structural work. For remodeling that includes structural work like removing load-bearing walls, altering exterior walls, or adding on a room, an architect can design and execute the renovations while ensuring your home remains structurally sound.

There are differences between universal design and ADA accommodations, but the outcomes are often similar. While universal design is a proactive process that takes a social justice approach to accessibility for all, ADA accommodations are focused specifically on accessibility for individuals living with disabilities. ADA accommodations often take the shape of wider doors and hallways, ramps, elevators, lower counters and sinks, and easy-to-grab door handles; universal design can include these plus emphasize better lighting, tractioned floors, and other building elements that allow all people to use buildings more comfortably.

Depending on what the blueprints are for, a qualified draftsperson, contractor, or architect can draw them up. In some cases, including specialty permitting for a build, you may be required to use a licensed architect.

In many cases, a blueprint drawn up by a certified professional is required before a city or municipality approves a permit.

With proper training and experience, reading blueprints is fairly straightforward and not very difficult. If you don’t have the necessary knowledge to interpret the symbols, abbreviations, and other notations used, blueprints may not make sense. Learning to read blueprints can help you understand the construction process and keep you more involved and informed when you’re building a house.
