"Rich came to give us a quote the same day we called. He told us what items could be cleaned and saved and what had to be disposed of. He took the time and explained everything thoroughly. The next morning his crew came on time and got right to work. Rich and the guys did a great job cleaning our basement. You would never know their was ever sewage in our basement. "In short order it was obvious that they knew what they were doing. They replaced the damaged wood. Sealed the opening and reinstalled the skylight. They then further sealed the skylight and replaced the shingles. I feel very confident that it will not leak again. Besides their excellent work, they showed up when they said they would and kept me informed about scheduling. I highly recommend them and I'm getting my list ready for them to do next spring."

"They were very responsive in providing a quotation for the gutter replacement and the price was competitive. They were very busy so there was a bit of a delay in completing the work. They advised they were 3-4 weeks out and the work was done 5-6 weeks after signing the contract. The workers were very professional and did high quality work, they were done in less than two days. We are pleased with the final product."

"They were on time and as far as I can tell, did a great job. Gutters look great. I had contacted them about three weeks ago, and he said right then that due to their work load it might nor be for threw-four weeks. It took All American maybe two weeks, and they called, in the morning came out about a hour later and were done by afternoon. Easy to deal with."

Gutter Repair and Replacement FAQs, answered by experts

Snow and ice can both accumulate on the top of a metal roof and slide off as the weight of the snow increases or as the snow and ice melt. This can rip the gutters off your roof and damage the gutters or the roof if you don’t take preventative measures. Snow guards are one of the easiest methods for helping to prevent snow accumulation on your metal roof from damaging your gutters.

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.

Calcium chloride does not do significant damage to gutters when used properly and in moderate amounts. If you use too much too frequently, it could eventually cause corrosion in your gutters. Rock salt will harm your gutters, though.

Once you’ve installed your gutters, you'll need to maintain them. You should clean your gutters once or twice a year to keep them functioning correctly. But if climbing a ladder and scooping out handfuls of wet leaf gunk is just not your thing, you can hire a professional gutter cleaner near you to do the job.

If your gutters get overwhelmed every time it rains, adding an extra downspout is a solution. First, you'll need to decide where to add the downspout. If your current setup only has a single downspout, one option is to place a new one at the opposite end of the gutter. If you already have a downspout at each end, adding a third one in the middle can help to lighten the load.

You can hire a professional to add a downspout yourself by cutting into the existing gutter and attaching the necessary parts, such as an outlet and brackets.
