Small jobs welcome

"Central Wisconsin Excavating (CWE) did a fantastic job on our project. They built a solid, well-prepared foundation for our 80,000-bushel grain bin and graded our driveways perfectly to ensure water drains away from our buildings. Their attention to detail, quality of work, and professionalism really stood out. The site was left clean and properly finished, and everything was done right the first time. We’re extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend CWE to anyone needing excavation or site work done right."

"We had great service from Seth and his crew. Our sump pumps were running almost 24/7. Seth came over right away when I first contacted him and gave us great cost effective suggestions. After they were done, the problems were all resolved. The work involved redirecting the drainage from all our downspouts, installing yards of drain pipes and some catch basins, regrading and re-seeding the yard all around the house, They also helped us with our many â While-youâ re-at-itsâ . The guys left the place looking great and I feel like we really got our moneyâ s worth by hiring them. We highly recommend them."

"14 years ago, our basement had damage from flooding when we had moved in and there was starting to be evidence of structural issues with the cinder block foundation. They came in re-enforced the walls and installed a sump pump and drain tile system. Ever since that point there has been no issues with any water or moisture in the basement, or any structural issues with the foundation. We couldn't be happier with the work that they did."

"I had Everdry Waterproofing in March, 2026. They dug down and serviced vertical cracks, Waterproofed exterior walls, installed interior drain tiles and bleeder system from inside concrete blocks, and installed two new sump pumps. I have not have a drop of water enter my basement from anywhere, even through the frequently torrential rain storms we've experienced this year. The work was started and completed on time. The site was neat and clean before they left. The workers worked hard and treated each other respectfully. Last week, in early September, my friend who helped me install a rec room and things 40 years ago, came by. He hadn't seen my basement waterproofing project. He had graduated college as a civil engineer, morphed into becoming a strutural engineer, and then became a licensed architect. I was very pleased at his careful look at everthing Everdry had done. He said he had never seen a more perfect waterproofing job."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"

I inherited a property that had it's share of trauma.  I had no idea of where to start or what to do, I thought I had my work cut out for me. A friend mentioned PLM and my husband remembered their ad on the back of our church bulletin. In one phone call I was told when I could expect help! My first meeting with PLM and they came to work in full force. I was greeted by the estimator, general contractor, and full work crew.  They started immediately! They are so knowledgeable. No one every thinks about the service professionals that clean up messes that we don't know how to deal with. They do it all... full service cleaning from the toilets to the ice cube trays in the refrigerator. They drywall, paint, spackle, remove carpeting, install new carpeting and flooring.  What ever you need, out with the old in with the new! They have samples of carpeting and counter tops, there's no need to chase all over town.

During all of this activity the one thing that was most noticeable to me was how EVERY employee told me how wonderful their boss is. I felt like I was on an episode of undercover boss. This shows in their work, it pays to surround yourself with great people!

Please don't hesitate to give them a call Josh, Randy, Dale, Mark and Jim(the Boss) are the best!

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Storm doors come in several materials, including vinyl-clad, steel-clad, aluminum, and wood-core. Styles range from full-view to high-view. Learn more about the different types of storm doors.

If you know the damage a hurricane can cause, you know how essential it is to protect your home. Getting ready for hurricane season can go beyond roofing reinforcement and extend to other external entry points where water and wind could damage your home. You may want to install hurricane window film to protect windows and glass doors or invest in storm windows. Storm windows cost an average of $12,000 and offer impact-resistant window surfaces with a better chance of fending off high winds.

The average cost to install a door is around $1,100, but you could pay anywhere from $150 for a hollow-core interior door installation up to $2,000 or a high-end exterior door installation. There are a few cost factors to consider to get an accurate price, including whether your wall opening exists, the type of door, the quality and security of the door, whether you need to replace the frame, and the door size. You can expect to pay $150 to $700 for a standard 36-by-80-inch door and between $400 and $1,600 for an 80-by-48-inch door.

Storm door panels are typically made from tempered or laminated glass, and each type has its benefits. Tempered glass goes through a special heating and cooling process, increasing its strength and durability. It’s known for its safety features—when it breaks, it shatters into small, relatively harmless pieces rather than sharp shards. Laminated glass is made by sandwiching a layer of plastic between two layers of glass. This interlayer holds the glass pieces together even when shattered, preventing them from scattering.

A storm door should be the same size as the front door. Both doors will fit into the same opening on the exterior of the home, so you can expect the storm door to be the same size as the front door. Most doors will be about 32 or 36 inches wide and 75 or 81 inches tall, although you can customize your door sizes.
