Then they pulled out a box labeled ‘Important Documents’… which turned out to be 300 Taco Bell sauce packets from 2004. I half expected them to hand me a medal for “Most Dramatic Transformation.” If they start offering to clean up my life choices, I’m signing up immediately."

The job turned out to be much tougher than expected—the old cement was nearly impossible to break up and the clay ground was hard to dig deeper for the required dept —but Ken handled it like a pro, using a jackhammer and digging through hard clay soil without complaint. Despite the extra work and materials needed, he stuck to his original price even when I asked to pay him more, which speaks volumes about his integrity.
