I’ve used Cox plumbing a number of times over the last decade. Hey included a broken metal pipe in a washstand, replacing kitchen sink hardware, and once for a kitchen sink pipe leak and another time to replace all the sinks piping. Scheduling was always easy and the jobs were accomplished quickly and affordably. In the past 20 years I’ve replaced two sump pumps. However, I recently needed to replace the hose from the pump to the line to the septic system. However I had connected the hose about four years earlier, I couldn’t duplicate it and the hose had a bit of a leak that got worse the more I messed with it . I called Cox and they were out the same day and made an interim patch and suggested replacing the hose with a pipe. This made sense, because the hose I needed to replace had worn through from years of stress hitting the concrete rim of the cistern the the pump triggered. On the follow up date it took about an hour to cut the pipe and make the connection. I thought the price for both visits were very reasonable and won’t hesitate to use them again!

We have used this plumber for several years. Not only have they been exceptionally responsive, but have been masters at diagnosing and resolving plumbing issues for us in 70 year old home with numerous do it yourselfer issues from the original owner who built the house. The tech have been courteous and informative. The office staff has always been friendly as well. They are consistent and prompt and show up when they say they will-there have even been instances when they have deferred or substantially reduced the service call charge when the fix was a quick and simple one. Highly recommend them.

Had appointment set up for the following day but Derek called to say he had finished a previous job early and would be available to come the same afternoon I called. He found the problem and resolved it quickly, showing and explaining exactly what he had done and how we could address it ourselves in the future if it reoccurs. I referred him to my daughter, who contacted them for a problem at her house, Derek came , again, before the date of the appointment in some spare time he had, explained to her what the issue was (which had resolved itself) and how it could be addressed if it reoccurred. He didn't charge her for that visit but asked that she use Cox plumbing if she has other plumbing needs. Derek is amazing and a real asset to this company!!

Arrived on time and replaced the garbage disposal within no time. Very professional, friendly. Definitively will reach out to them for any plumbing needs in the future

Great service provider. They show up, review the issue at hand and then work with you so that you understand what they believe the issue is and what would it take to resolve it. They don't look to trick you or take advantage of you. Reasonably priced as well compared to some of the other "fakes" around the city. They are our preferred plumbing service provider.

I brought my first home this spring that my dad was helping me remodel. While in the middle of the remodel, my water heater started to fail. Around the same time, the county told us that I couldn't do the work "myself" since I was not living on the property at the time. My dad reached out to several plumbers trying to get someone in to look at the water heater and to transfer the permit into their name ASAP. Cox's Plumbing is the first that could come out. Jeff (the owner) promptly came out and looked at everything that need to be done for both the water heater and the updated plumbing for my new laundry room. He then said he would get back to my dad with a price because he had to find a water heater that would fit. After looking at all that needed to be done, Jeff came back with a price of $1000 for the water heater and $150 for the permit transfer. A little high, but we needed it done quickly. My dad told him to go ahead with the work. Jeff also told my dad to build a wooden stand to place the water heater on. When the plumber came out to actually install the heater, he said the stand was illegal and would cause inspection to fail, so my dad wasted building the stand for nothing. When the plumbing inspector came out for the rough inspection, he needed the model number of a pump we put in sent to him from the plumber. After sending him the picture of the manual, my dad could not get Jeff to respond and he even had his phone shut off at one point. Once the model number was finally sent to the inspector, we were allowed to finish our work. Shortly after the work is done, Jeff calls my dad to let him know that now the bill would be $1400 total. When my dad questioned him on this, Jeff (again the owner) began yelling at my dad forcing my dad to hang up on him. Jeff then called back leaving a voicemail yelling and threatening him. He listed all the things he had to do even though he was well aware of all the work to be done when HE gave us a price. I waited a couple weeks and asked around for advice on what to do since it was clear we were being taken advantage of. After being told by other plumbers (and even calling the desk at Cox Plumbing pretending to be looking for an estimate and being told the most it would cost is $1100) every single person we reached out to us told us were were being taken advantage of. I decided to send a check for $1000 for the water heater clearly stating it was the full payment for the replacement. I also included a letter stating that once our final inspection was complete, I would send the final check for $150. Which I did a week ago. Now, today, I received a note in the mail from Jeff stating that they have made "several" attempts to contact me about my bill and have not received any payment. I find it extremely hard to believe that both checks somehow got lost in the mail. I am extremely disgusted with this business' practices and taking advantage of clients.

Plumber arrived on time and was very friendly. Cleaned up very nicely after himself and realized he could do things a little differently based off our quote, so we can save some money. So impressed with the professionalism and the fact they saved us money. After the job was completed, the plumber informed me he was leaving and everything looked great. A week later, Jeff stopped by to make sure everything looked good and we paid him :) Very nice transaction from start to finish.

This has been the most frustrating experience that I have ever encountered! Beware!!
We should have known better when the plumber Jeff was 45 minutes late to quote the job that this would be the underlying theme to the way Cox Plumbing does business, but  being realistic we understand that minor delays arise and chalked it up to the nature of their business. The job was quoted quickly maybe 5 minutes in total and we agreed to go forward with the work. Jeff said the job would be "easy" and would cost between $400-500. He wrote up and mailed the quote and we set both a date and time the work would be completed.
Jeff had asked that the plywood flooring of the shower base be removed so the plumbing could be completed, in doing so the existing joists were exposed and the plywood flooring couldn't be replaced without a way to fortify the flooring. Long story short, the fix was a simple piece of plywood that needed to be screwed on top of old floor to fortify the structure. All of this prep was done before Jeff was scheduled to show up but none was put in place because the plumbing work needed to be competed before it could be secured.    
The morning of the schedule repair I took a few hours off of work to meet the plumber and explain what was needed to fix the flooring. Two hours past the scheduled time of work, no plumber had shown up. Both my wife and myself called the office to see what was going on, initially neither of us got an answer and were finally told after 3 calls that an emergency job had come up and they would be there within the hour. At this point I needed to go to work and couldn't wait any longer for the plumber to show up and explain the flooring fix. 
We arrive home from work and the plumber is still in the house, not Jeff, but a plumber who we had never met nor spoken to regarding our job, he made mention of how moving the floor drain was impossible due to its location in proximity to the joists, it was never our intention to move the drain, but this seemed to be lost in the lack of communication within the company. Most of the quoted job, minus the drain work was completed, Tom told us that Jeff would call us to explain, Jeff never called.
After another few attempts to schedule the completion of our job, we received a return call to finally finish the work that was supposed to be completed two weeks earlier.
The plumber who worked on the job arrived to our 8 AM appointment late again, Anne explained the plywood solution and he agreed that it would be sufficient and completed the original drain work that was quoted. He completed the initial job that was quoted in 1.5 hours. He left and said that Jeff would again reach out to us to discuss the bill, again this did not happen.
We received the bill in the mail and it was almost $300 more than the job that was quoted with work to the floor listed as the reason. There was no more work to the floor done on their part than we initially discussed, minus the time to screw down one more piece of wood. This doesn?t translate into over two hours of extra work.
We called to discuss with a manager or owner and were told that Jeff is his own boss.
The only quote we received states, ?Any alteration or deviation from above specifications involving extra costs will be executed only upon written orders, and will become an extra charge over and above the estimate,?  An increase in price was never discussed, nor delivered to us at any point throughout the job.
I have sent the payment for the high end of the estimate plus tax and material costs and sent a letter explaining the reasons why we would not agree to the new higher total.
After a month of not cashing the check, Jeff had reached out to set an meeting to discuss why the amount was higher. We agreed to a phone conversation after work, between 4-5 PM. Would you believe that Jeff called early?!? I couldn't pick up because I was at work, but called back during our agreed upon time frame, I left a voicemail explaining that I didn't have anymore time to deal with this as Cox had already wasted over 6 hours of my time either waiting or chasing them down.
Don't deal with this company they clearly use bait and switch techniques and do not value their customers time.
After 5 months we have yet to hear from an owner or manager regarding this issue, nor have they cashed our check.

We had standing water in our basement from the floor drain backing up. We called Cox plumbing at approximately 10:50 am on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, Jeff was at our house and had the service completed by 1:00 pm. We were very happy with their responsiveness and excellent service. Highly recommend Cox plumbing and will definitely use them again..

The faucets on the outside of our house were becoming very difficult to operate. We called Cox Plumbing to provide a quote for installing better faucets on the north and south sides of the house. In addition, we wanted a new faucet installed on the east side of our house. Mike arrived at the agreed time and reviewed the work we wanted completed. About a week later, we received a quote in the mail from Cox Plumbing. The quote provided us with a few options for upgrades that helped us make our decision. We signed and returned the quote. The job was scheduled.

Mike arrived at the scheduled time. He reviewed the work to be done to make sure we all were working with the same information. He put down carpet protectors to prevent tracking in any dirt and went to work. Mike was very pleasant, efficient and professional. When he was finished, he showed us what he had installed and how the various valves worked. He did an excellent job of cleaning up area.

We would definitely recommend Cox Plumbing and will use them in the future for any plumbing needs.

Everything was excellent but in October, 2014, I got a call from them saying they didn't think they billed me for everything and wanted me to check my records that I don't have. I'm sure I paid them.

We called on a Saturday, and this was the only plumber that was willing to send someone out.  He came out at 4ish on a Saturday evening - b/c of the type of pump we had, we had to wait until Monday to get the part, but the plumber was here early on Monday to install it.  He was professional, extremely patient with my kids, and gave some helpful advice as to how to keep the pump as long as possible.  He then came back to install our dishwasher - I left him at our house, and he did a great job.  I'd highly recommend Cox.

The work was done by Tom who was easy to work with and very professional. He arrived right on time and was able to complete the job quickly. I was very happy with my entire experience with this company.

It is a small, local company so I basically see the same faces each time. They are familiar with my house and I have been using them for years. They help with every little problem we have been having.

Job was done by Ray. I just want to say and quot;Ray Rocks!and quot; He did a great job and fixed a problem created by another vendor. Nicely done.

I had called them because my toilet kept running so they came out and made the repair. Everything went fine and I would use again, matter of fact I plan on using in the next week or 2.

Cox was excellent to work with and we have used them in the past. Will continue to use them in the future. Fair price for work done.

We were out-of-town so everything was co-ordinated over phone. They (Cox) followed thru on all requirements, even returned next day to check and clean up any missed items.

I've used them before. They are very courteous. They come when they say they will come and if they are going to be late, they always call. They call me just before they arrive so I am looking for them. I didn't have a problem with the price. It was very reasonable and competitive. They are very fast at responding.

Awesome service! My sewer backed up into my lower level bathroom on Thursday evening. I check Angie's list and chose Cox Plumbing from the reviews and the proximity to my house. I called at 8:15 am and Jeff arrived at my house by 8:45 am. He was able to snake the sewer line out to the street to clear the clog and take care of the issue by 10:00 am. Jeff was quick and eficient and I was very pleased with the service and the price. I have been looking for a new plumbing company to work with and will definitely contact Cox again for any future needs.
