"The project went very well from my initial meeting with John for a quote all the way through to now having a beautiful garage floor. I was treated like family and provided helpful tips before, during, and after the job. Everyone I met from the company was respectful, professional, and went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of as a customer. My family and I are so happy with the new garage floor and I'm happy that I was able to find the right company for the job. Without hesitation I would recommend hiring Epoxy Transformations. They will take care of you and you will be happy with your decision."

"JBS did a wonderful job! Every day we have a neighbor stop by to ask who did our new cement driveway. Our garage floor needed to be replaced for YEARS since it was sinking in the middle and we have always wanted to change the driveway from asphalt to cement and expand the walkway on each side. We submitted a request on Angie's List for quotes and JBS responded within an hour and came out that week to give us a quote. They removed the old garage floor and asphalt driveway in a day, along with framing in where the cement would go the following the day. The next day, another team came out and poured the cement like a "checker board". It looks amazing. If I could attach pictures to this, I would! We are planning our next cement project in the back yard with them!"

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Commonly used in garages, epoxy is a synthetic resin coating that goes over the top of concrete surfaces. If you’re deciding between polished concrete and epoxy flooring, the best choice depends on your needs and personal preference. Epoxy is durable and highly customizable, while polished concrete tends to require less maintenance. They’re both long-lasting with similar price points, and professional installation is recommended for each.

The benefits of epoxy floor coating include increased durability for concrete surfaces in the face of harsh chemicals, easy cleaning and maintenance, improved efficiency for underfloor heating, and an improved aesthetic over the dull surface of standard concrete floors.

Most concrete sealers take about one to three hours to dry. However, those that penetrate may take up to 48 hours or more to completely dry. You can find specific drying details from the manufacturer on the label.

The biggest downside of sealing concrete is that it needs to be resealed every few years. This routine maintenance can be laborious if you do it yourself and expensive if you hire a professional. Beyond that, sealing concrete can make the surface slippery, which can be dangerous with people with mobility issues, young children, or those with pools near their patios.

Mix the resurfacer into a sticky mixture. The consistency should look like mashed potatoes. Use a squeegee to push the resurfacer across the pitted area and smoothen the surface with a cement trowel flush. Make sure you protect any expansion joints with a weather strip. Alternatively, cut out any resurfacer that touched the joint once the mixture begins to harden.
