We set up an appointment he came out right away and it started off them doing two projects for me. That led me to have them install slat walls in my garage and having custom workbench is made. The best tool to cut pavers is a hammer and chisel. These tools are best for inexperienced DIYers, as they're affordable and don't require special skills. DIY is possible for small areas, but professional services ensure safe, efficient removal with minimal dust and debris.

Once your concrete is broken down into chunks, it is time to remove it. The easiest way to do this is to hire a concrete hauler or junk removal service—however, this is also the most costly option. Taking it to a landfill yourself is cheaper but much more work. Posting a classified ad or enquiring with local landscaping companies or concrete suppliers are more sustainable options, but only if you find an interested party to recycle the concrete for another construction project.

It’s far more labor-intensive and expensive to demolish a concrete slab before laying down pavers. You’ll need a professional to break up and haul away the concrete, excavate underneath, bring in paver base or crushed gravel, and then level the area with leveling sand before laying the pavers. A new paver patio will cost around $1,000 to $2,000, which is more than laying pavers over a concrete patio, and takes longer to complete.

An easy way to cut concrete pavers without a saw is to use a hammer and chisel. You can make a few passes over your paver with a hammer and chisel to make a fissure where you want the paver to break. Once the divot is about 1/8 inch thick, drive the chisel hard into the center of the line to complete the cut without using a saw.
