Mike & Stacey are a great team; they came out to give an estimate on the work needed. Mike (the owner) knows his business well. He pointed out other masonry repairs needed and also indicated his team would try to fix one porch pillar without completely replacing it [as another contractor insisted had to be done]. The work was completed in one day, the problem pillar repaired instead of replaced (major yay!), cleanup nicely done!!! We are thrilled with the results, highly recommend their services and would use them again!

Overall, it went well. They were very professional and informative. When we saw a few things that need a bit more attention, they were over the next day to make additional repairs.

They started the work but were delayed by rain. They had to skip work for a couple of days. It took longer than I had anticipated. I can understand that they could not do that type of work in the rain. As far as I can tell, it looks fine. The price was $3800. That was probably okay. I cannot rate them one way or the other; whether that was fair or not. There is no way I can reconciling it to something else. We have not had this kind of work done before. We have a 2 storey house with a peaked attic. The chimney was above the peak. They had to put scaffolding on it to put the cap. They had to dig out because it was loose. They did up a good job of cleaning up afterwards. I cannot hold it against him for not working in the rain.

They removed a basement door for us and they put blocks in order to finish the wall. I would not use their services in the future.

They did an excellent job, did it in a timely manner, the only thing my husband complained about was that they didn't clean the gutters as well as they should have. They had to use a cement mortor mix to repair the chimney. There were three leaks above the chimney and since they've restored it, it's been fine. They came and took about 2-3 days to complete the work, they even came on the weekend to finish the job.

They did a very professional job, however, since it was a small job, they worked me in around other jobs. This took a bit longer to get completed. The price was good, however, and I am happy with the work they did.

It started off fine. I started seeing cracks in the driveway. I saw the first one on February 13th, that one lead to the garage. Then I started seeing more cracks and this is on the area of the new concrete that was replaced. This is an area I do not drive on. This is the area of the driveway closest to my home. I called them three times. The first time there was no answer. The second time I got a response and called the private number from the receptionist. The third time I spoke to the owner who in turn said I needed to have the driveway sealed for a cost of $800.00, additional to what I had already spent. It was a verbal estimate over the phone. He then sent the bid out that stated the $800.00 on paper. I called them back one more time and have not received a response. I have called them due to the number of cracks increasing on my driveway.
Response from D&B Restoration Services LLC
"When I received the member's complaint, I inspected the concrete which we had installed and observed some minor hairline cracks. In the winter, Wisconsin experiences extreme weather conditions and there is no warranty on concrete. Due to the freezing & thawing cycles, hairline cracks can be expected. I don't like it , but it is out of my control. When we poured the concrete slab near the member's wooden porch, we instructed her to place dirt between the porch and the concrete. No dirt was added. This caused a drainage problem which may also have contributed to the hairline cracks. When she asked me for a solution to the problem, I recommended that the concrete be sealed because sealing would fill in the minor cracks."

They were good. The hardest part though was once I got the estimate, they were really busy and so they took a long time to come, but once they came, they did a good job.

D&H did not pull building permit as verbally promised. Balked, but finally provided proof of insurance before work started. Total cost listed above includes well over $1,000.00 in unexpected charges. Removed patio and sidewalk, and excavated OK. But only removed/replaced 6 out of the 10 feet of bowed block wall. New wall was still 1.5" out of plumb, and was not high enough to support exterior wall. Per Building Inspector, D&H was forced to install galvanized steel brace to make up the difference. This cost me another $500.00 for inspection/engineering fee, and another $930.00 in labor and materials. D&H didn't lay down plywood to protect my driveway from their heavy tractors. They ruined a portion of my blacktop drive - a parking 'L' large enough for a single car. Since the concrete stoop didn't need to be removed as part of the wall straightening project (as originally quoted) they offered instead to replace the damaged parking L. But they poured it a full 2 feet shorter that the original! This, despite having taken their own pictures of the original patio and drive when they quoted the job. Then they had the nerve to imply that I was trying to get a larger parking space installed for free! What's worse, they didn't use 2" wash stone to back fill the excavated area along the crawl space wall. Instead, they pushed the excavated clay back into the hole, leveled it, and poured the new patio in a span of only four hours without letting it settle. Over the winter, the clay settled away from the new patio, leaving an area approx. 3' x 15' partially un-supported, the ground had sunk 8 to 12 inches several places! To their credit, D&H contracted CRC to mudjack the settled area at no additional cost to me. D&H never came back to level the surrounding ground. Instead, they delivered 'blended' top soil (read: chock full of exotic weeds). I decided to level it myself, as I was so disgusted with their effort that I didn't want them back on my property. They had the nerve to say they couldn't deliver the top soil and/or arrange for the mudjacking in the spring, because they "had to get some cash flow going". This, coming straight from the owner, Mike Dimmer, who came to my house several times in his brand new turbo-diesel 3.5 ton club cab pickup truck! CRC threatened to place lien on our house when D&H failed to pay them promptly after mudjacking. D&H accused me of having extra work done by CRC at D&H's expense! Job was started in Oct-2007 and not completed until July-2008. Half the summer was over by the time we got to use our new patio. Bottom line - job done, but NOT done right...

We received a flyer and needed our chimney repaired, so we decided to call. We were promptly called back and within a couple of days Bob came by to look at the job. While he was here, he also informed us that his company does power washing and caulking, as well as a variety of other things. We then decided to get an estimate on power washing the house and garage as well as some caulking. We received our proposal within one week and decided to give them the job. The job went very well, better than we expected. The job was completed in a timely manner. The employees were friendly and very thorough with their job. Any questions we had were answered immediately. Getting ahold of them was also very easy, they were very quick to return our phone calls. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

The individual who responded to my request was very professional and responsive. The guys that did the work did a very good job in about 3 hours total. I did not have drawings and a lot of decisions had to be make on the fly - like routing it around my well and aligning the end height with a deck to comply with codes. They worked with me and I got what I wanted in terms of the layout. The project came in as quoted and their quote was much better than some of the others I received. Beware that they, nor any other concrete contractor, includes repair of the landscaping so keep some funds on had for putting the lawn back together.
