They came over very quickly and gave my wife and I a very good quote we thought. We didn't even get another, Slept on it, they called back the next day and we set set up a date. Mario showed up (very nice guy) . Said it would be a couple hours, and it was. They didn't need to turn off the whole house which was good and wired in a new electrical panel and plug on the outside. "AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!!!!! For two year in a row, this company cleaned my gutters, and the service was terrible. Last year, I had to climb two stories to inspect the job their worker did on cleaning my gutters, and I saw that they hadn't been cleaned at all. He was at my house for half an hour. So, I called the company right away to demand that the worker get the job done right or I wasn't going to pay them. He went back up on the ladder and did the job right. I thought I would try them again this year. OMG, they did an even worse job of cleaning my gutters. The EZ worker was at my house for less than an hour, he walked around on my roof for half an hour pretending to clean my gutters. When he said he was done, I asked him did he want to use my water hose to power rinse the gutters with water. He said no, and that the gutters were pretty clean, now. This time, I didn't climb the ladder to check his work. I'm 63 years old, and reluctant to climb ladders at my age. However, several weeks later was on a ladder filling holes in cedar siding on my house. I happened to look in my gutter to be sure that fall leaves weren't clogging my gutters, and what I saw disgusted me ... my gutters hadn't been cleaned at all. I paid EZ Window Cleaners over $275.00, and THEY DID NOT CLEAN MY GUTTERS, even thoghh I paid them. They ripped me off."

"My A/C stopped working at the beginning of a streak of hot weather. I called Seider when they opened at 7:30AM. She took my information and told me they wouldn’t be able to make it until after 5PM as they were fully booked for the day. Also was told after hours rates would apply. At that point I was just happy to know someone would be coming. Especially since it was also the day before a holiday. Not much more than an hour later I got a call from Brandon, a Seider technician. He said he was about 10:minutes away and would it be okay for him to come now. That was more than fine with me. He arrived a short time later. We greeted one another and headed to the backyard where the unit is. He told me he was pretty certain that he knew what the problem was as he was familiar with the model that we have. And, he was right. He removed the failed part. Showed it to me and explained the problem. He retrieved a new one from his truck and installed it. He asked me to turn the air on. I was able to do that with my phone. And, viola! The compressor started right up and continued to run. Before Brandon arrived and replaced the part it would start but then stop after a few seconds. It’s now been about 10 days and the system continues to work like a champ. Thank you Brandon and Seider. It’s getting to be time to replace my furnace and Seider is at the top of the list for that work!"

The direction your ceiling fan spins helps create comfortable airflow in your home and can also help cut down on energy costs. 

During summer, your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise. This will push cooler air downward in a column and help lower your room’s air temperature. In the winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise and at the lowest speed setting. This will pull cool air upwards, displacing the warm air that pools towards the top of your ceiling and bringing it down towards the floor.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

Most ceiling fans have a lifespan of anywhere from five to 15 years or 10 years on average. Just how long your ceiling fan lasts depends on the quality of the parts, how much it’s used, and how well you maintain it. A fan with a weak motor that runs on the medium setting nonstop is likely to have a shorter lifespan compared to a fan with a powerful motor that runs on the slowest setting for air circulation.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.
