Prompt Action Pest Control is a family owned and operated pest control company that has been servicing Northwest Wisconsin since 1989. The owners of Prompt Action Pest Control are Shane, Jared, Stephen, and Brant Hanson. They are the four sons of Jerry and Edwina Hanson, the founders of Prompt Action Pest Control. Shane, Jared, Stephen, and Brant are also the service technicians. Edwina and Jerry now help in the office and provide technical and administrative assistance as needed.

They asked me several questions regarding the infestation, were prompt in coming to my house, explained the process/what could be expected/what to do or not do/, followed up when they stated they would,... Whereas a honeybee can only sting you once, a yellow jacket can sting you multiple times because they don’t leave stingers in the skin. In the unfortunate case that you get stung by a yellow jacket, it’s important to react calmly and quickly. Immediately ice the affected area until the swelling subsides. You may also take an antihistamine if necessary. If you experience an allergic reaction to a yellow jacket sting or have been stung several times, seek medical care right away. 

Some bees may return after the nest is removed. These are called "straggler" bees, and it may take them a couple of weeks before they leave. The reason is the nest may have been removed while the bees were away. These bees don't typically survive long once the nest is gone, so you may want to contact a beekeeper to help relocate them elsewhere.

Early spring or late fall removals are ideal when bees are less active, and hive removal is safer.

In many places, killing bees or destroying a hive is discouraged or regulated due to their crucial role as pollinators. Specific laws vary by region, and certain bee species are protected due to declining populations. Some states require permits or restrict who can remove or exterminate bee colonies. Always check local laws before attempting to manage or remove a beehive.
