The Door Store Inc

I have used The Door Store several times in the past and have always been pleased.  It was a long time ago, however.  Late in December, needing some storm doors,  I looked at the website and found the store hours and drove there only to find that the store was going to be closed for a couple of weeks.  This should have been posted on the web site.  The store was to reopen on 1/15/16, and on 1/23/16 I called to see if they were open and there was no answer (after several calls) -- just a message indicating store hours that were different from those posted on the web site.  However, there was no indication that they were closed today, as I was calling during store hours.  There was just a message stating the hours of operation and asking me to leave a message.  I assumed they were open and went to the store only to find a note on the door indicating that they were closed today.  
This was very frustrating and disappointing to me and I will never use this business again even though my past experience was very good.  The phone message should have been changed to reflect today's closure and the website should be edited giving the correct hours of operation.

It took a while to receive the door since it was a special size. The storm door took longer than the actual door. We were happy to wait for such great results!



The installation pretty much took a whole day. Jim did a marvelous job considering our 100 year old brick building had a lot of quirks. The frame had to basically be built from scratch and was connected to the adjacent window. With his experience, Jim was more than prepared to accept the challenge and completed the job with confidence. 



I would recommend this business to anyone in a heartbeat. I am so happy with their professionalism and ability to do a quality installation in an old building. Well worth the cost. My door is beautiful and I am so thrilled to have it!

So far we have had Jim come by to measure our door for our order and discuss the installation. I was a little worried that he would take one look and run away like the other guy, but there was none of that. He is just as much of a true craftsman as Chris. He was really able to describe the installation process in a way that no other contractor has described to me so far. I was really impressed with what he knew about our old building and the care and effort he plans to put into the installation, including insulating, adding any wood that might be needed within the walls, replacing trim, etc. I am psyched that I found these guys and am so confident after speaking to both of them that they will do an excellent job. I put down a deposit for my order without giving it a second thought and I can't wait for the finished product.

They were prompt and courteous. They were fine for the professionalism, I had no problem with that, since I have had worked with the other company before I decided to use them.

Demolition and installation went extremely smoothly. One of the doors was very challenging, but the installer, Jim, did a fantastic job on the tough door as well as the two others. He was friendly, on time and super efficient. The whole process, from selecting the doors, to painting to installation was professional and efficient. Very happy with the outcome!

It was a wonderful experience. The installer was excellent and very friendly. The installer cleaned up after himself.The price for this door was excellent compared to other doors in the area. The door is beautiful. I received a call the next day from the person who needed to paint the new finishes. Customer service very responsive to all questions.

We went to the showroom and picked out the doors from a combination of looking at the floor models and the catalog for the various options for each of the doors. An installer came out to the house to take measurements and to make note of the color of the paneling that we wanted the stain on the door to match. It took about 6 weeks for the doors to be ready to install and the weather was rather chilly on the day the crew came to install them. The crew showed up on time and were very efficient and professional in removing the old doors and performing the installation of the new ones. The inner door was stained at the time it was installed and matched quite well with the existing paneling in the room. The only issue was that the inner door had to be jiggled a little bit to lock securely but the installer was able to make the proper adjustment after which it closed and locked very well. We are very satisfied with the work and have had numerous compliments on the appearance of both doors. We would definitely use them again.

I went into the door store to look for a new back door because my old door was the original  on my 60+ year old home and the handle and lock could not be replaced or repaired.  Chris  was very helpful and explained the many styles that would work  in my house.  I picked a beautiful door that  I did not see in any other store.
I set up an appointment for them to come out and measure and  not only were they on time for this appointment, but they came on time for the installation appointment as well.
They  installed the new back door and lock and also repaired my screen door which was only a few years old though never quite worked right , ( I  purchased it and had it installed from a big box store).  They went out of their way to find new parts and, if that wasn't enough, they  repaired my two, heavy, bi-fold glass doors leading from my dining room to the office.
If only everything was this easy!  .

In the store, Chris was very helpful and patient.  I did not feel rushed.   Once I decided what I wanted, they came out promptly to measure.  The entire project was completed within a few weeks.  The painters and carpenter arrived promptly, were very professional, and did quality work.  The stain on the interior of the door is a good match to the stain on the hardwood floors.  There was quite a bit of carpentry work involved since the replacements were not the same size as what was there before.  The carpenter did a very good job.  They cleaned up afterward.

They completed the work when they said they would, arrived on time, were courteous, installed the door properly, and cleaned up even removing the old door. This is the second time that I used the Door Store and would certainly use them again.

The Door Store is a great place to choose a door. They are set up like a labyrinth and if you have an idea of what you want, you can quickly find the models all in one place. Chris made the ordering easy. Someone was able to come out and measure without my being home because it was an outside door. The installer was excellent, efficient and neat. He took the time to explain every feature of the door. The door is high quality and looks great. It was a little pricier than we hoped, but that's because we needed a custom size for our older townhome.

The owner was very knowledgeable and took my questions seriously.  The installer was friendly and went out of his way to troubleshoot and ensure a proper installation.  Painless experience.  Quick turnaround.  Will use again when the time comes. 

The company was professional from start to finish...Ordered it on November 20th and requested that it be installed before 12/31 to take advantage of energy credit. Door came in exactly how was ordered, color matched to my specifications and the installers were polite, clean, and professional, and, was installed on time!!!. It was a pleasure to work with them and I even got an Angie's List discount!!!

Installation date had to be rescheduled by installer, but installation on 2nd date was done very well and very efficiently.

I called them after and they eventually came out. He was nice and was to provide me with an estimate. He also mentioned a few doors from another job he might be able to use. They said that they would follow up with an estimate. I called after waiting 3 weeks and spoke with his partner. He mentioned he would let him know. I called a few more times and 5 weeks later I still have not heard back with this estimate or even that they are waiting, need more details, etc. This makes it hard to count on them for a job. I liked the interaction with the man and he seemed to know what he was doing.

I live in a condo. Whatever I install has to match the rest of the existing exterior texture. They were the only company that was able to provide the kind of work I needed. That was the reason I used them. The installation was really good. The construction we have was done poorly. They had to completely rebuild some areas before they could set the window out. They did a great job. We live on the third floor. I had to go up and down a lot of times. They were excellent. We spent about $2800. On the downside, it was really not their fault, they quoted a delivery and installation date that was actually a month earlier than what I wound up getting. There were a couple of issues on communication. They are not really hi tech at all. They don?t have a web site. We did not have any E-mail communication. So it was a little more difficult to contact them. However, their service was really good. I would recommend them to anyone. I had a bunch of other things going on here and it was difficult to coordinate things. They took money off for my inconvenience and it all worked out in the end. We will use this company in the future.

It was good dealing with them. Their pricing was competitive and the selection was better than other stores.

They did an excellent job of painting, installing, putting in the lock. They are a top-notch company. You pay for the quality of the work, but it is worth it. I can't say enough about what they do. And I had the same experience twice.
