"I've been dealing with this company since the beginning of the year.1-5-25. This is the most unprofessional company to work with. From lack of communication, follow through, and completion of my project. I started with the first associate, was handed off to the next associate, given engineered plans that didn't even apply to the building I was installing, sent corrections that weren't correct, resent the plans that were incorrect and haven't received anything since. I was transferred to a manager, whom never contacted me until i contacted Rueben the so called supervisor. With his lack of follow through and Joann's inability to finalize my plans, I'm still waiting. I've reached out numerous times and still no contact from this so called professional firm. Please reach out to them Angi!"

06-18-2014 $80,000 Interior project Member Comments: Our project consisted of a complete gut and then remodel of the kitchen 5 rooms and powder bath. We chose to use Teppo for the entire remodeling project. Kevin made several visits to the house in the evening, bringing samples of cabinets, counters and flooring. He coordinated a showroom visit after hours for us. He was knowledgable and easily addressed concerns about several small details in the remodeling process. In the process, Kevin did not over-promise or gloss over specifics. The price quote was in line with four other quotes that we had received but we saved a considerable amount by using Teppo's wholesale connections - a savings that we applied towards nicer outfitting of the kitchen cabinets and quartz countertops. Teppo's cabinet and countertop vendor discounts were also substantial. We are excited to begin the project in the next few weeks. While you might think that architects only draw blueprints for buildings, they are much more involved in the overall construction process than you might realize. While they aren’t the ones swinging the hammers, architects do the following:
Communicate with the homeowner on the project request, including assistance when exact plans aren’t known
Develop computer-aided models and blueprints of the requested design
Ensure that the design incorporates form, function, and safety features
Provide the contractor with the agreed-upon design
Supervise the general contractor and any subcontractors throughout the project
Communicate any needed changes to the project with the homeowner and draw new plans accordingly
Before settling on and hiring an architect, it’s beneficial to you as a homeowner to ask some questions to familiarize yourself with their work. After all, you wouldn’t want to spend time and resources on a professional that doesn’t specialize in exactly what you want in a house. Some questions to ask your architect include:
How do you charge for services? Is it on an hourly basis, based on square footage, or based on project size?
How do we work together to stay on budget for this project?
Do you anticipate any future challenges with this project? How are these communicated?
What is your project management style? If you are not handling the day-to-day details, who is my point of contact?
Can I see previous similar projects that you’ve completed?
Do you have any specialty experience, like working on historic homes or using sustainable building materials?
The average cost to hire an architect for your home project ranges between $2,200 and $10,500.
