"I had them come out to do a blower test to see where the leaks were for my house. They came out same week. The test was very cool. I got to feel where all the leaks were coming from in my house and see where we were missing insulation. I'd recommend having them come out and do this before having anyone do insulation. I plan on having them come out and fix my leaks"

"Insulation Northwest did a fantastic job insulating my 1944 house recently, with Drill & Fill in ground-floor walls never before insulated, plus a complete insulation of the second floor attics and interior walls. They were super-careful cutting and drilling my old cedar shakes, replacing them perfectly and caulking them afterwards. They worked around plants without damaging a thing while doing the walls outside. I have old lath and plaster walls but blowing in the fill left not even a hairline crack or any trace on the inside. Much appreciated! They spent two long days at my house and they were clean, friendly, professional, and helpful . This is my second time hiring Insulation Northwest and I give them my highest recommendation."

"I asked for help with no notice and they responded with the repair the very next day because I was only in town for 2 days to fix the insulation problem for my home sale inspection. Thanks very much for your help today! I would happily recommend them anytime!"

"I hired Acorn Attics to insulate my house and I couldn’t be more happy with their work. Phil and his crew were on time, friendly and incredibly hard workers. He worked with me on scheduling and made sure to keep our project moving even when we had a setback with another repair. I highly recommend them. They will get the job done. "I started this project months ago to completely reinsulate my attic with none of the experience; let me tell you, not a beginner-friendly DIY project. You gotta be Spider-Man to crawl around in my attic space, which I did numerous times. My friend and I spent 3 hours blowing insulation into the attic one morning, making our way through 12 bags of cellulose. After that I called Wallet-Friendly and I'm so glad I did. Martin reassured me with his confidence and plan that they would do a much better and safer job than I ever could. Plus they live up to their name! Two days later Martin and Gary distributed 58 more bags of cellulose in less than 2 hours. But I didn't order enough and we needed more! The cellulose arrived two days later and so did Wallet-Friendly Insulation to finish the job. Just in time for another heat wave!"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Insulating your basement walls offers numerous advantages that make the project well worth it. By adding insulation, you can reduce the chances of moisture damage to the house's structure and lower the odds of mold growth. You'll also add comfort to the space by reducing temperature swings and increasing your home's energy efficiency, potentially reducing your energy bills to earn your investment back.

One of the biggest disadvantages of glass garage doors is that they are not the best at insulating your garage. In the summer, heat can enter through the glass, while in the winter, heat can escape through the glass, increasing your electricity and gas bills as you crank up your HVAC unit. You can help mitigate the poorer insulation by investing in insulated glass and insulating your garage.

Bubble wrap is better for moving since it can be cut to size, whereas dish foam comes in precut sheets that are harder to manipulate. However, if you’re packing items like dishes, wine glasses, picture frames, or mirrors, dish foam will protect them better. Ensure you measure your box beforehand so you know what size dish foam to purchase.

The most energy-efficient windows are double—or triple-pane windows with low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings and gas fills between the panes. These windows reduce heat transfer, prevent drafts, and help maintain a consistent indoor temperature. But if replacing windows isn’t in your budget, pairing your existing windows with insulating window treatments can still make a noticeable difference in home comfort and monthly bills.

Yes, there are government incentives available in some regions for insulating air ducts as part of energy-efficient upgrades. These incentives aim to encourage homeowners and businesses to improve energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint. To determine whether you qualify for such incentives, check with your local utility company or government agencies. They often offer rebates, tax credits, or other financial incentives that can help offset the cost of duct insulation projects.
