"About a year and a half ago I had a bid for an asphalt driveway. When Norm came out, he read the site and suggested paving more than I had planned, and proceeded to offer a bid lower than I had thought. After one year I feel that Roads Paving over delivered. This spring they will be sealcoating my driveway. Were I to need subsequent work, they would be my first and only call Larry Martin"

"Very well. Rome was very knowledgeable and experienced at the work. I believe helped to train me about my concrete needs and make good decisions on our needs. His work schedule is short. They started work the next week. They showed up on time and finished my driveway prep-and pour in less than 2 days. The crew is friendly and efficient. UPM is also used cold, but it can be used as a longer-term fix, usable in almost any conditions at almost any temperature.

Several materials are suitable for steep driveways. Gravel and crushed stone are affordable options that provide good traction. Permeable pavers—such as plastic, rubber, or concrete—filled with gravel or crushed stones are also excellent, as they allow water to drain without causing erosion and perform well in ice and snow. Another option is resin, which can be coated with an anti-slip finish and helps prevent puddles. For added stability, you can install a retaining wall to prevent pavers and gravel from shifting over time.

When asphalt cures, it typically changes from a very dark black hue to a lighter, more matte gray color. Cured asphalt also won’t be tacky or sticky to the touch or emit any odors from the asphalt mix. Additionally, the surface of fully cured asphalt won’t deform under any pressure.

Recycled asphalt is not better than gravel, but can be a good alternative. It is inexpensive, but not as low-cost as gravel, and doesn’t tend to last as long. Recycled asphalt isn’t as dusty as gravel and is more environmentally friendly. The black look can be something that homeowners prefer.
