Arrives every day on time and always show up, has a wonderful crew that he brings onto the project. I would highly recommend Jack of All Trades for any project, not just bathroom remodel. "When I called the owner I explained what needed to be done. He came out within 2 days. He was finishing a prior job and scheduled work for the following week. They did all the cleanup the first day , trimmed bushes, moved plants and planted new ones the next day, plus laid bark and then edged and mowed the yard. They were very thorough, cleaned up everything, and left me a beautiful yard."

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.
