"We hired Chevis to mount a TV, install a new kitchen faucet, and install a built in microwave (and install an outlet for it). He was polite, on time, responsive, and his pricing was very reasonable. He did great work and got all three projects done in a little over half a day. We are very satisfied and will definitely be hiring him again in the future."

"The one star is for Rueben who finally just fixed my dishwasher after months of waiting. My parents have been customers of Fred's for decades so when it was time to upgrade my dishwasher and stove, of course I went with them. I had to wait almost a full year for the dishwasher and it stopped working properly within the first couple of years. Still under warranty, I called to have it fixed. It took multiple calls, Fred's cancelling on me more than once or just not showing up with no communication, talking with the dispatch, Joey (who wasn't worth a penny), and finally leaving a message for the service manager. The first service guy they initially sent out, Tyson, didn't even run diagnostics and told me a part wasn't clipped in correctly. BS. He was also totally unpleasant. Dishwasher didn't work. More phone calls. A different service tech who actually was able to diagnose the problem, but then didn't show up the day he was scheduled to. Finally today it's fixed, crossing fingers since "

You can expect to get 15-20 years out of a glass stove top with normal wear and tear. Your glass stove top's life will be shorter if you use very heavy cookware on a regular basis, such as cast-iron skillets.

Electric fireplaces give off more heat than you might think. Because they don’t lose heat through a ventilation system, which is required for wood-burning and gas fireplaces, they’re able to disperse more heat into the room. However, many electric fireplaces are limited to a max of 5,000 or 5,200 BTU heat output, and you can get more from traditional fireplaces.

It’s not necessary to tip appliance installers, but it is a nice gesture to show your appreciation for their hard work. It’s especially a good idea if your team has to haul your appliance up stairs or through tight areas and around corners without damaging your home. Tipping each installation team member between $10 and $15 is a great way to thank them for a job well done.

If you burn popcorn or other food items in the microwave, the smell lingers for an uncomfortably long time. To get the burnt smell out of your microwave, remove any leftover burnt food debris and then heat 1 cup of water in a microwave-safe container for about three minutes. Next, clean the inside of the microwave with a soft microfiber cloth, water, and a small amount of dish soap. Dry and let the microwave air out for two to three hours.

To get rid of the smoke smell in a microwave, scrape off any burnt food residue and throw it away. Next, warm a cup of water in a microwave-safe container for three minutes. Then, dip a microfiber cloth into a mixture of water and a couple of drops of dish soap and wipe down the inside of the microwave. Dry the inside of the microwave with a fresh cloth and let everything air out for three hours.
