Customers say: True professional

"I recently had some James Hardie siding replaced by Home Worx LLC, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. The final cost was more than fair, especially considering the additional issues that were uncovered once the old siding was removed. It turned out that some of the sheathing and part of a joist needed replacement. What really stood out was Dave, the owner. He immediately paused the work, clearly explained the situation, and made sure I understood the added scope and cost before moving forward. I appreciated his transparency and professionalism throughout the process. The quality of the finished work is great. As a bonus, Dave also shared some helpful home maintenance tips that I plan to use going forward. Overall, a very positive experience—I would absolutely recommend Home Worx LLC."

"We got three estimates and although Summit's was not the lowest it was competitive and bar far the most comprehensive and detailed. After selecting Summit, Stuart the owner, worked closely with us to ensure we had a successful result. He met with us twice prior to the project to help select paint and confirm our expectations were aligned with the plan. During the project his team was hard working, helpful and courteous. Stuart checked in regularly and when we noticed minor damage to our gutter as a result of a ladder he checked it out and agreed to take care of it right away. Following the completion of the project we walked through it together and his team did a thorough job on touch up. We'd 100% hire Stuart and his team for future projects. We hope to use them for interior painting this winter."

"Great Service, I reached out for a dry rot siding that has non-standard planks. Matt customized the siding planks to match my existing siding and repaired the leak as well. He did the work so well that I further hired him to repair another poor job from the another big contractor company that repaired my wind storm damage from a few years ago. Highly recommended."

"Peter painted our fiberglass front door to our home. The fiberglass doors were challenging, and he spend a great deal of time with the prep of the door and around the glass inserts around the door. His work was outstanding, and the finished product was probably better than when we bought the doors new. We sincerely appreciated his work and highly recommend him for any projects one has in regard to specialty painting."

"The crew was polite and professional. No nonsense, and had a hustle to their cadence. As a retired framing contractor I was pleased to see this efficiency as the job was completed in a timely manner. Impressed they took the time to stop and ask me how I wanted a particular aspect plumbed when in doubt. The job was done cleanly and it looks great. Highly recommended A !"

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

If you remove a load-bearing wall to create an entrance to a carport or covered patio, you can expect to pay between $3,200 and $9,500, with an average cost of $6,400. Factors such as the type of addition and if that area needs additional work will add to the price.

Duration varies by project size, but average-sized homes typically take a weeks.

The best way to calculate framing costs is by basing your costs on the square footage of your home. On average, framing your home could cost anywhere between $7 and $16 per square foot.

To ensure you don’t go over budget, base your estimates on the higher end of the price range. If you know you’re going to use high-end materials or require a custom or complex build, you might even want to tack on an additional 5% of your budget.

Bow windows need support because they are large and extend out from the exterior wall of the home. Bow windows may extend 1 foot to several feet from the outside of the home, so you’ll need to provide additional support to handle this weight. A window contractor will be able to provide the proper amount of support for your new bow window.

Yes, a 2x6 should hold a porch swing and safely support the load. A smaller joist runs the risk of it not offering enough support for the swing. If you have a joist smaller than 2x6, add additional bolstering support.
