Vic does amazing finish work! The overall project went well and Vic worked with us to totally revamp our bathroom while helping us find the right level of customization to meet our budget. Vic was easy to work with and you can tell that he takes pride in his work. I would whole heartedly recommend Vic for any bathroom projects!

Vic did an excellent job for us on many projects--a major deck refinishing, rebuilding a 100+-year old window seat, resuspending sagging kitchen cabinets, repairing and replacing some outdoor cedar siding and stairs. These varied projects required not only excellent carpentry but also innovative thinking to resolve some of the construction issues involved in this quirky old house. We were expecting to have to replace the deck but he convinced us it would be better, and more cost effective, to instead refinish the old cedar boards, replacing only a few boards--and he was right. He could have charged us more for new decking, but didn't--this impressed us. He's honest, reliable, and good at solving problems.

Vic Steiner is honest, experienced, meticulous yet practical. He is a problem solver and his skills are many. He has worked on numerous projects for us, all of which have been done to high standards. He approaches each project as if it were for his own home. Here are some of the projects he has accomplished for us, or for close neighbors: kitchen remodel, bath remodel, flooring (both installation and refinishing) , basement renovation, outdoor work (decking, outdoor lighting, fencing, brickwork, paths). He generally works alone, and if a project is too ambitious for him (it rarely is) he will honestly decline it. He avoids traffic by arriving mid morning and leaving later in the day than most contractors. We give him our very strongest recommendation.

We have used Vic multiple times and will continue to do so for our future home needs. Vic was reliable, flexible and we were very pleased with the end result.

Vic installed a new bath tub, new tile for the surround, new cabinets for our laundry room, installed luxury vinyl and number of other things for us. He brought a wealth of knowledge and patience to trouble shoot a lot unexpected things that always come up when you do a remodel.

Vic refinished two staircases for me and did a stellar job. I am extremely happy with the work that he did. He is a true professional and takes great pride in his work. I would have no hesitation in recommending him for future work.

Vic did a terrific job of a very challenging task. He is knowledgeable and experienced and was able to give me the advice I needed and suggest solutions to problems that arose. The end product is exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Vic and will hire again.

In our water damaged kitchen and living room, Vic walked us through and said what he could do for each portion of the damage. Vic works on one project (customer) at a time so he sticks with it until it's done. His work with texturing and paint rolling are very good A typical day runs from about 9:30 am til 6:00 pm -- a little shorter if he needs to pick up materials as the project progresses. Be sure to consult with him when a need for color selection arises such as stains, grout color, etc. His work repairing an old oak cabinet was very nice. Most others I think would have not attempted it. I am very pleased with the man and his work.

I can't recommend Vic highly enough! He was exactly what you want when you hire a contractor! His bid was the best by far! He started when he said he would, and finished when he said he would and charged what he said he would! Five enthusiastic stars *****

Excellently, we initially explained to Vic what it was we wanted to do and he was very receptive to what we wanted Without trying to “take over” and do what was easiest for him. Vic was also very reassuring that what we wanted to do was doable. My wife and I were amazed at what Vic was able to do with rerouting some heating vents and plumbing to hook up our new appliances. Vic was also very knowledgeable in dealing with electrical contractors saving us from being overcharged and avoiding unnecessary work and products. We are very very happy that we were able to find Vic to remodel our kitchen and are very glad that he agreed to do it. We are very happy with his work and very proud to show our friends and family our new kitchen.

Vic did a wonderful job. We started with cement walls and floor, and ended up with a beautiful basement. Vic did most of the work himself, and researched and hired subcontractors for the rest. We had a roughed in bathroom, which he finished. As far as I can tell, he can do any kind of contracting needed. He was always conscientious about noise and any mess. He kept us in the loop for all decisions that needed making. He came up with interesting ways to make our project better. He came up with a closet for the bathroom that was very useful and looks very nice. We definitely will hire him again for any job.

Very well. This is our third time using Vic Steiner. We had him convert an old bathroom into a mud room with a new entry into our garage--complete with a stairway, handrail, ceiling vent and wall lighting. Vic did everything, including tear out, electrical, flooring, sheet rock tape and texture and finish painting. Excellent work and easy going personality. He was good with design and suggestions. We recommend him highly!!

Excellent experience from start to finish. Appreciate prompt response and Vic is an excellent communicator. He is organized and works fast.

Overall the project went very well. We interviewed 5 different contractors and picked Vic because we liked his price, we liked the fact that he was going to do most of the work himself, and we felt that we could work with him. The project was supposed to be done in about a month, and ended up taking close to 2 months. Part of the delay was materials and the plumber, and a few days were lost because of surgery and a previously scheduled vacation, but ultimately we did get the bathroom and tub room we had hoped for. Although we were originally considering luxury vinyl, Vic did steer us toward tile. He did an excellent job of installing the tile on the floor and around the new tub, and it all looks beautiful. He also did several small things at the end of the project (such as replacing towel bars in another bathroom, installing a curtain rods and a shade, and replacing an electrical outlet) at no cost.

Vic is great to work with! He was prompt, finished on time and under budget. He does excellent quality work, and I'd hire him again for any carpentry work that I need.

I cannot say enough good things about Vic and would highly recommend him to anyone I know. We stumbled across him on Angie's List as we needed help installing an egress window prior to the sale of our house. I'm so thankful we found him! We also had him take care of a few other projects like building a stair railing and addressing a plumbing issue. He did a great job on all of the projects we hired him for. He is hard working, dedicated and definitely knows what he is doing. His pricing was very reasonable and I felt like he really cared about taking care of his customers. All of those traits are not easy to find. I've been through a lot of contractors and he is definitely my favorite. I would hire him again in an instant.

I’ve hired Vic multiple times for a variety of projects, big and small. He is a great problem-solver – if you show him a problem, he will design a solution, or multiple options, and check with you to see what is best. This is really valuable if you have an old house. He does carpentry and lots more, big tasks and small ones. His work is precise and neat and looks great. In the course of a project, he may identify other things he could easily fix, or even do it un-asked. He cleans up thoroughly, and will follow up promptly if corrections or fixes are needed to his work. He’s a good communicator, and will let you know if his schedule or something else changes. All this at a reasonable price. I recommend Vic!

Vic was easy to work with. It was difficult to find someone who could install an egress window for a reasonable price but Vic was able to make it happen.

We called Vic Steiner and we liked that he was a one-person business, explained our project and asked him to give us a bid. He gave us a few options, and presented us with a detailed bid, which we thought was very reasonable. He estimated the job would take about 4 days and we could tell he really knew his craft. He kept us informed daily what his plan was for each day. The job entailed re-positioning a set of double-doors, framing, sheet rocking, mudding and taping the stair encasement wall for paint ready, trim for a single door, the double doors, a new set of folding doors for a laundry area and a lighting circuit with 3-way switches. He was very pleasant, trustworthy and took great pride in his work. Top of the line craftsman! We are hoping to hire Vic to do our bathrooms this summer. We would recommend him highly!

Vic replaced the faucet quickly and at a price that was much lower than plumbers would have charged. Very reliable, quality, cost effective service!

I had a need to install Egress Windows into two bedrooms in the basement of my home. One room had two windows and the other had one. After, consulting with Vic and getting an idea of the overall cost, it was decided that it would be best to add a window to the bedroom with one window and increase the size of one of the windows of the other bedroom. I could tell Vic had a character from his first visit and I soon realized he was the right man for the job after interviewing several other candidates. Vic was very booked up for the months to come and I decided that was another good sign and welcomed the wait for him to become available. I was right and have been very happy with the result of his work.

The project went great. One of the benefits of choosing Vic is that he works one project at a time. So once he started, he was able to get the job down quickly. He did a great job taping off the area he worked on in order to prevent any unnecessary mess in our bedroom. When we found out the window well that we initially wanted was going to have a 5-6 week lead-time and be much more expensive than quoted, Vic was quick to suggest an alternative design that we like a lot more than the original design. Plus, Vic rerouted a ground rod that was in the way, which was outside the original job scope, and didn’t charge anything additional for the work. We’d gladly hire Vic again for a future job.

Vic provides very impressive craftsmanship and high quality results. I was most impressed by his woodworking skills but he was very capable in all the types of remodeling/construction work he did at our house. What I most appreciated was that he before he started a section of work, he would discuss in detail with me what we were looking for and from his vast experience he would come up with several options and ideas so that we would come up with the best plan/design based on the situation, needs, and budget. He didn't push certain approaches that he preferred, instead he was very collaborative and strived to create a room that would be most functional and aesthetic for the inhabitants. He went out of his way to research and find the best fans and fan timers to put into our rooms that were the least conspicuous and met our functional needs for multiple fan runs per day to dehumidify the rooms. He did the same for the door fixtures. From his extensive experience, he told us how effective different approaches to dehumidifying, heating, wiring, drywall, etc would work, so that we could make good decisions on where to invest and how to design. He did a nice job of tidying up the work site each evening, so that we could get around his gear and still live comfortably in the house. I asked him about how to do some future home improvement/maintenance projects and he was happy to provide great advice. He was available via phone call/text, there wasn't any difficulties in reaching him. The pricing for the original plan as well as add-ons was fair and reasonable. He is very trustworthy and reliable. I highly recommend!
