"Brett (Project Manager) visited on Friday. My goal was to get whole-house surge protection added to the service panel. During a discussion in the garage, i noted that there was only one outlet on the "shop" side and that i had to use extension cords to power my tools. He suggested adding three new circuits to the panel. He informed me that a new sub panel would be needed due to the main panel being full. Following the discussion, he generated three estimates (surge only, surge plus two circuits, and surge and three circuits). I selected the third option. He noted that Hunt's technicians would be able to perform the installation the following Monday. The installation team arrived at 08:30 and reviewed the proposal and helped me select the location of the plugs for the three new circuits. They took measurements for conduit and left to purchase the materials and began work an hour later. Work was completed at 15:30. I highly recommend Hunt's Services for electrical work."

Small jobs welcome

"We noticed one of the ducts in our house was damaged. I went through Angies list and was told a number of companies will contact me. Post Results was the only company that responded and they responded quickly within an hour. I spoke with Ryan and he agreed to stop by to check things out. He not only came the next day after we spoke, but he fixed the problem by installing a new duct!! I like that he took care of the problem right away. No playing around with them. I thought he and his brother were courtesy and extremely knowledgeable. Also, I felt extremely comfortable talking with them. I felt that they had my best interest at heart. and thatâ s very rear these days, because most companies try to bleed you for money and will tell you anything. I will recommend Post Results to anyone any day of the week. =)"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Adequate storage, workspaces, and energy-efficient systems are key considerations.

Structural engineers draw structural plans, which include detailed drawings of the structural components of a home only. Complete house plans will require additional work from an architect or draftsperson, whose drawings will take the structural drawings into account. They’ll also include more details about the finishing materials and layout of a home, including everything from roofing and flooring materials to the position of furniture, light fixtures, switches, and plumbing fixtures.

A pool builder can advise you on the best design for your property and vision, and can walk you through the process from design to a swim-ready pool. Knowing which questions to ask a pool builder can help ensure you choose the right person for the job.

Hiring a contractor with knowledge about historic renovations and reviewing their previous work is important. You can find a historic home renovation contractor by calling your local historic preservation office, historical society, or any local historic museums nearby. The staff may have suggestions for specialized contractors who have worked for them. You can also ask them about historic home restorations that you have seen and liked in your area to get recommendations for pros.

No, it’s not legal for unlicensed individuals to conduct structural calculations for buildings or building repairs. Not only do licensing requirements prevent DIYers from tackling this project, but mistakes can also be extremely dangerous and put your property and anyone inside or near it at risk of severe injury or even death. You should always hire a licensed and certified local structural engineer to make structural calculations.
