"They did a wonderful job fixing up our foundation damage. And they have given us a 5-year warranty, which means if there's any leak in the next 5 years, they will come right back and fix it. I do not doubt that the work will hold up well though. The whole project went down smoothly, and we are very happy that they were able to fix our foundation."

"We had a plumbing leak in our ceiling and Art came out right away. He fixed the source of the leak, abated the mold, and repaired the part of the ceiling that had to be cut out. He textured and painted the ceiling so well that you could never tell any work had been done. He also patched and textured a few nail holes in an adjacent wall for free. On top of being great at his job, Art was fun to work with. Highly recommend!!"

"Cole was very polite, educated about ancestors procedures and disposal, and provided reference upon request. I Had my house tested for asbestos. He was able to visually inspect some areas to determine if they needed testing and saved my $$. The pricing was reasonable ($150 to come out, $35 per sample). The trading was done locally at a third party lab and I recieved my results before the week was over. some of the samples came back positive for asbestos, but I was not pressured to do abatement immediately. I did ask for a quote though."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

It is not advisable to stay in a house with black mold. Exposure to black mold, or any mold, can lead to health problems, especially for vulnerable individuals such as children, the elderly, or those with weakened immune systems. Black mold produces mycotoxins, which can cause respiratory issues, skin irritation, fatigue, and headaches. If black mold is detected, it is crucial to evacuate the premises, seek professional help for remediation, and only return once the area is thoroughly cleaned and confirmed mold-free by experts.

Homes should be checked for mold annually, especially if you live in an area with high humidity or frequent rainfall. Inspections are crucial following flooding, roof leaks, or plumbing issues. More frequent checks are necessary if your home has a history of mold problems or water damage. Regular inspections help detect mold early, preventing costly remediation and minimizing health risks, especially in moisture-prone areas such as basements and bathrooms.

Black mold on wood is a very serious issue. Besides compromising the structural integrity of the wood, it poses significant health risks. Stachybotrys chartarum, commonly known as toxic black mold, produces mycotoxins that can lead to respiratory issues, allergies, skin irritations, and other health problems. If left untreated, it can spread rapidly and compromise the structural stability of the affected wooden structures. Immediate remediation and preventive measures are essential to mitigate the risks associated with black mold on wood.

Musty smells often indicate the presence of mold, which can lead to various health risks. Inhalation of mold spores may trigger allergic reactions, causing sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, and itchy or watery eyes. People who suffer from mold allergies or asthma may experience more severe respiratory problems. Certain types of mold, like black mold, can lead to mycotoxicosis, a condition associated with serious health effects like respiratory problems, fatigue, headaches, and skin irritation if exposure continues for an extended period. Those with weakened immune systems, respiratory problems, or allergies may be more vulnerable to the health risks that come with musty smells. Therefore, it is crucial to address and eliminate the source of the odor promptly.

Vermiculite insulation that comes from a particular mine before 1990 is likely to contain asbestos. This is particularly true in the U.S. However, not all types of vermiculite insulation contain asbestos. Since you can't detect the presence of asbestos without special equipment, it's best to assume that the insulation contains the dangerous mineral and to either leave it alone or hire a professional to handle it.
