"This company is very expensive but I was happy with the detailed report that I got. They charged me $100 for a mold alarm but did not send me any instructions and will not tell me how to use it over the phone. So that was a huge waste of money. Phillipe collected the swabs and was pretty amazing. I appreciated him taking the time to show me some of his concerns. They charge $400 for two air samples and two swabs. Very expensive. The person who called me to go over my report was amazing. She was very helpful and provided me with additional resources. If you have concerns related to toxic mold or are pursuing a lawsuit then I would recommend them but they are the most expensive"

"Called right away. Made appointment for next day, showed up on time. Inexpensive compared to other mold inspectors, per conversations with others who have had the service. Answered all my questions and stayed in contact until he had results and then made an appt to go over results, with suggestions. Very professional and easy to work with."

"They did a wonderful job fixing up our foundation damage. And they have given us a 5-year warranty, which means if there's any leak in the next 5 years, they will come right back and fix it. I do not doubt that the work will hold up well though. The whole project went down smoothly, and we are very happy that they were able to fix our foundation."

"We had a plumbing leak in our ceiling and Art came out right away. He fixed the source of the leak, abated the mold, and repaired the part of the ceiling that had to be cut out. He textured and painted the ceiling so well that you could never tell any work had been done. He also patched and textured a few nail holes in an adjacent wall for free. On top of being great at his job, Art was fun to work with. Highly recommend!!"

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

No. When dry, mold enters a dormant state. While “sleeping,” the mold won’t multiply, but when it encounters moisture again, it springs back to life, releasing spores. That's why it's crucial to not only control humidity but also actively eliminate mold to prevent its resurgence and further growth inside your home.

Yes, mold behind drywall can affect your health, even if it is not visible. Mold releases spores and mycotoxins into the air that can be inhaled, leading to various health issues including respiratory problems, allergies, asthma symptoms, coughs, and other infections. While individuals with pre-existing conditions like allergies, asthma, or weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable, anyone can be affected by prolonged exposure. Additionally, if left untreated, mold can spread throughout your home and compromise its structural integrity, resulting in costly repairs.

Mold loves a moist environment, so the best way to keep it from returning is to keep your machine as dry as possible. Take laundry out of the machine as soon as you can after a cycle finishes. If your laundry room is humid, consider using a dehumidifier or at least running a fan to increase airflow.

It's also a good idea to leave the washing machine door open when it's not in use, to improve airflow and keep the interior dry.

No, not all black mold is toxic. Although people often refer to stachybotrys chartarum as toxic black mold, there is little evidence that any one type of black mold has more toxicity than another. People who have an allergy to black mold would be more likely to have a dangerous reaction after inhaling it. Long-term exposure to black mold spores can lead to severe infection and disease. Some people only have minor health problems after black mold exposure. Ultimately, toxicity is rare with any kind of mold, but it is possible, so always take the appropriate precautions.

Condensation in your dryer can create a dangerous situation. It can cause lint to clog up the venting components of the system. If you have a gas-powered dryer, excessive lint buildup can create the potential for carbon dioxide buildup within your home. Clogged vent systems can also be a severe fire hazard.
