"Ben had his team at our house to remove a deadly tree that had limbs hit our house during a storm and do thousands of dollars damage. Ben surveyed the challenging tree, had his guys there within days, and, within hours, the tree was taken down! It was amazing to watch! Expert people, great results and we are thrilled to start Fall and weather season with no further threats from the tree! Highly recommend Ben and his expert crew!!"

"We couldn t be happier with our experience! William was early for our estimate appointment, his customer service was excellent, and his pricing was significantly lower than the other two quotes I had received for the same job. He came the following morning to remove our tree stumps (very punctual again!), and he efficiently cleared the stumps and cleaned up debris in a matter of minutes. Our yard looks like the stumps never existed! We would absolutely hire this business again."

"We had 4 alder trees leaning over our home and Tipton arrived promptly and topped all trees, efficiently and with great care!! We could not be more pleased with the fantastic job that he did for us. Extremely professional and courteous, with fantastic work ethics.I would not hesitate one minute to hire him again. If you have any tree work or any work done by Team 1A you will NOT be disappointed. Recommend him highly, and he can personally use me as a referance any time! Make sure you call him first, I sure am glad I did!!!!!!

"I purchased this service for my daughter and son-in-law who had bought a house w/ ivy planted in the back yard. The ivy was established and beginning to take over, and there was ALLOT of it. They came and worked very hard; 40 man-hours of labor, and they pulled every last bit of it. They also back filled w/ some mulch. It looks great!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Some fast-acting products can rot a tree stump in four to six weeks. Keep in mind, these products contain harsh chemicals that may prevent regrowth in the area. Other products, like fertilizer that contains lots of nitrogen, can enhance the process and rot a stump in about a year. (This is compared to the ten years it can take naturally for a stump to rot.)

Early signs that a tree is struggling include premature leaf shedding and lesions or other strange markings. Peeling bark, dead or rotten branches on the ground, and a conspicuous lack of leaves can all be signs that a tree has started to die. By the time a tree starts leaning, it’s usually too far gone to save.

You may be looking to identify maple trees to use for home improvement projects. In that case, you can tell hard maples by looking at their leaves. Leaves will have a U-shaped dip, or sinus, between the points, or lobes, of the leaves. Leaves of soft maples tend to have V-shaped sinuses.

If you already have the cut wood in front of you, look for a light, uniform color to identify hard maple wood and check for variations of red, gray, or brown streaks and an overall darker color in soft maple wood.

The safest way to cut down a tree is to make sure you’re completely prepared and have done all the necessary safety checks, including double-checking your equipment is in good working order, you have plenty of clearance to fell the tree, you’re wearing all the safety gear, and you have a partner to help you (who should also be wearing safety gear).

No, you cannot plant a tree above a gas line. Tree roots grow and spread over time and can sometimes dent, crack, or penetrate a gas line. Those same roots may also cause accessibility problems for maintenance or repairs. You can generally plant vegetation with non-invasive root systems, low-growing vegetation, and flower beds near gas lines.
