"We have wanted to remodel our kitchen/dining/living room space for years, but balked at the complexities involved in trying to make our late seventies split level house into a more open area for entertaining. When we finally decided to take the leap, we were so glad that we connected with Duane and H&H Contracting. Duane was prompt in consulting with us and sent us a bid within a couple of days. He had the experience to handle the improvements that we wanted to make and to suggest things that we might add to the project that would make the look of our home more polished and cohesive. Duane handled permitting, ordering materials, a whole network of subcontractors and all those things that would have stressed us to no end! The project came in very close to budget despite some subfloor issues and changes that came up along the way. We feel like we have a brand new home, and we canâ t wait until we can enjoy entertaining family and friends in this lovely space (if this pandemic ever ends!) You wonâ t regret choosing H&H to update your home!"
"They did a great job replacing the floor of our shed, which had rotted out. They were prompt, courteous, worked hard and fast and worth every penny. I would recommend them for any job."
"I recently hired Brandon at Tiny Cottage Builders to install a garbage disposal in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with him and his service, from start to finish, he was professional, friendly, and efficient. When I first received a call from Tiny Cottage Builders and I inquired about his services, he was incredibly helpful and patient. He answered all of my questions and gave me a clear idea of what to expect. He gave me an estimate of cost so that I could budget accordingly. On the day of the installation, he arrived right on time and got to work right away. He was respectful of my home and took care to clean up after himself. He completed the installation efficiently, and made sure to test the garbage disposal thoroughly before leaving. Overall, I was impressed with Tiny Cottage Builders' customer service and the quality of his work. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of plumbing services, or any handyman job that you have Thanks again for a job well done! Bob Harris"
"This contractor was recommended to me by another contractor that didn’t have the time for my project.
Things that really stood out:
1. He was very thorough during our walk through and with his quote.
2. I had a vision of what I wanted and although I had pictures to help, he did a great job completing everything I asked and it was perfect.
3. The job was completed on time and was very reasonably priced.
4. When I wasn’t sure of the best product to use but knew what I wanted it to look like, he would offer options from lower priced, mid-range, and higher-end. Gave me pros and cons and left it up to me to choose, and I appreciated the options.
The job was a remodel of the living room, dining room, and entryway. He replaced four windows and the front door. Closed off one wall and made the entry on another. Replaced the entryway closet with a built-in. The walls, ceiling, and trim were updated, installed, and painted. He also did the flooring"
"Oh my! He did beautiful work for us! Very talented, skilled craftsman. Creative design ideas for all of my flooring and decking. Works hard, fast, and is very reliable. He was here when he said he would be. Even the pizza guy mentioned how gorgeous it all looks."
"Chuck did an amazing job building my fireplace mantel! All that was provided to him was a picture of what I was looking for, and he did the rest. His workmanship is fantastic, and he had unwavering patience with my questions. Chuck also offered suggestions during the process which enhanced the finished product. Love, love, love my fireplace!"
"Nice guys and fun to work with; could have done a little better job on planning but everything was acceptable and I was able to work around the little missteps."
"CMD was extremely respectful an on point, they worked with me through the whole process of remodel and the work it?s self was amazing, but great to work with and I will only be using them from now on"
"Schneider Construction was easy to have in the house, worked exactly to our specifications and finished the project with attention to every detail. Additionally, we received experienced design assistance, which was invaluable to me."
Yes, garage cabinets are worth it to organize the tools, supplies, equipment, and gear you’ve been storing in the garage. Garage cabinets provide a great way to declutter your space while also preserving your valuables—keeping them free from dust, debris, and various weather elements. Not to mention, garage cabinets also elevate the look of your garage, which can prove beneficial when you’re looking to sell your home.
While it’s possible to replace your own garage door, it’s a dangerous DIY job, and the work is best left to professionals. Garage doors can weigh hundreds of pounds and are quite bulky, so maneuvering them into place for installation is a tough job. Additionally, working with high-tension garage door springs is dangerous, especially if you install them incorrectly. The labor for garage door replacement costs around $400 on average, which is a small price to pay to guarantee your safety and the security of your home.
If you open your garage manually, you don’t need sensors. If you have an automatic garage door opener, sensors are required by law. The federal law UL 325 mandates that all residential garage door openers in the U.S. must include sensors. Designed to prevent accidents and reduce the risk of entrapment, the sensors should be able to reverse the motion of the garage door within two seconds of detecting an obstruction. The sensors are there to keep you, your family, and your belongings safe from a door that might otherwise come down too hard or too fast.
The smallest size a standard 2-car garage can be is 20 feet by 20 feet, so at these dimensions, you could reasonably expect to fit two cars inside. However, it’s going to be a tight fit, especially if you have larger SUVs or pickup trucks. For smaller cars, 20 x 20 should be plenty for parking and some space to maneuver around the cars. A larger garage size would be better to ensure you have room to open the doors and transport groceries or other items around the cars.
You have plenty of options if a standard sectional door does not fit your home. Consider glass, fiberglass, sheet metal, or faux wood doors, or a folding, tilt-up, sliding, carriage, or trackless pivot style. A local garage door installer can match a style to your garage shape and size.
