"Alex did a great job. This is a young man who decided to do what he likes and learn the skills to become good at remodeling. He answered all my questions and he also took advice. His invoice was a little bare he needs to list everything that requires the customer costs; but that got figured out. He worked hard everyday, did the job in 3 days which I was glad for, since the mitigation problem took 3 weeks to dry out. I was very pleased with the job, it all looks great and he will do well in the business. So yes I am "In a Better Space". Thank you, Diane Medick"

Customers say: Quick response

"Our recent experience with Final Cut General Contracting was amazing. We have a cabin at Stevens Pass that needed extensive repairs due to water damage. Although it was a complicated project to coordinate due to the distance from suppliers and supply chair problems, it was handled very professionally. I really appreciate how closely he stayed in touch with us about the project and sent many photos as the work progressed. Since we live in the Seattle area, it was not possible for us to keep close tabs on the project in person. He was very knowledgeable, efficient, and does beautiful work. I highly recommend Final Cut General Contracting!"

"The service provided exceeded my expectations. Nick was very easy to talk to, and very good at explaining the processes throughout getting new floors. Our job required 3 different types of flooring; carpet, tile, and laminate. Nick installed all of it by himself and did a fantastic job. He also helped fix minor things around our house and no extra charge. example under out kitchen sink had water damage. he ripped out the bottom of the cabinet and replaced everything free of charge. He was also very helpful with walking me through how to remove our appliances such as hot water heater, and dishwasher. Overall I am very satisfied with the work provided, and would recommend him to anyone I know."

"Project was going to be installation of exterior Christmas lights on a 50" Pine tree located in the front yard. Unfortunately, we did not pursue this due to emergency family matters. Contractor was very professional, polite and thorough. Should we take this project up again in the future we will contract him."

"

My expectations are that everything is done in 2 weeks. That's really not reasonable, it took about six weeks and had new ductwork installed, W/D utility sink relocated, new bathroom with separate sink/vanity area and then sliding door leading to shower/toilet area. The plumbing and electrical did take some added time but quality jobs take time and I did re-direct them at times to change the layout which they had no problem doing. Greg tiled the shower and bathroom floor at no extra cost since I set him up on another job in a rental house I own.

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. However, it is susceptible to scratching glass tile and is more difficult to use in thinner gaps. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.

For professional labor and materials, it would cost between $6,000 and $28,000 to install 1,000 square feet of Saltillo tile flooring. If that’s out of your budget, you could consider laying the tiles yourself or choosing a less expensive type of flooring. For example, vinyl flooring costs just $2 to $7 per square foot, so for a 1,000-square-foot space, you’d pay $2,000 to $7,000.

To make a small bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored tiles in a medium- to large-format size. Lighter colors like white, cream, or light gray help open up a room, making it feel larger and more airy. While it may seem counterintuitive, small tiles can actually make a bathroom look smaller because the increased number of grout lines creates a busy pattern that visually shrinks the space. Instead, opt for medium- or large-format tiles for a more seamless, expansive appearance. For the best effect, pair your tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout to create a continuous surface that enhances the illusion of a larger area. Avoid dark colors, heavy patterns, and contrasting grout, as these can make the space feel more confined.

You have creative freedom when it comes to your tile trim. If, however, you are considering skipping tile trim, please think twice about that. It is good practice to install tile trim, whether on walls or flooring. Think, too, about the aesthetic you are going for and choose a trim type and color that will help enhance the space.

The tile trim you use will depend on a few factors, including design preferences, budget, and whether the project is DIY or not. You might choose plastic trim if you want an easier DIY job that is more budget-friendly. There are also more color options available in plastic. On the other hand, you might choose metal to match your fixtures or for areas with heavy use.
