"I was contacted by a Tech at the assigned time and had to run to the store for a cable I needed. When I called back, I had a different Tech, but he was able to continue right where I had left off. There was no need to explain anything again. Awesome."

"We discovered a strange odor and went to investigate. We found smoke coming from a breaker in our breaker box. I called Fusion Electrical Services right away. Parker was here in two hours. He located the cause of the problem quickly, checked for any other problems, and made the the repairs. Everyone from the person who took my call to the electrician were very polite and went the extra mile to get our repair completed in a timely manner. Service was great, the price was very reasonable. I have called on Fusion Electrical Services to do the necessary wiring to install a lift in my garage and was very happy with the work. I highly recommend this company."

"There were many things wrong in my computer (my fault and letting grandchildren on computer) Robert was so helpful, gave me many good instructions to keep everything safe, which I have written down, feel like I have a new computer. He was so excellent and experienced, took his time and was meticulous about what needed to be done. He was a pleasure to work with and I will use this company again! Linda Disy"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

New homeowners in Long Beach should prioritize upgrading outlets near water sources to GFCI for electrical safety, inspecting the main panel for signs of corrosion, and confirming proper grounding. Installing whole-home surge protection and a generator-ready panel helps prepare for frequent coastal storms. Upgrading to weather-resistant outdoor lighting and choosing LED fixtures can improve both energy efficiency and resilience against the local climate.

Helpful?

In Long Beach, persistent flickering lights, a burning odor from outlets, or frequent breaker trips often indicate electrical issues needing immediate attention. Corrosion or greenish deposits on wiring or fixtures suggest salt air damage, which requires electrical repair. If power loss only happens during storms, it may be a utility issue. Water stains near outlets call for both electrical and structural inspection to ensure safety.

Helpful?

Homes in Long Beach built before the 1970s, or those with aluminum or knob-and-tube wiring, often need electrical upgrades. If your property is near the shoreline or has a crawl space foundation, it may require moisture-resistant wiring and extra electrical safety measures. Adding new appliances, converting a vacation home for year-round use, or noticing frequent breaker trips are all signs your home could benefit from electrical improvements.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Long Beach often underestimate the impact of coastal conditions, such as failing to use marine-grade wiring or skipping weatherproofing for exterior components. Overlooking the need for GFCI protection in damp areas and neglecting to secure proper permits are frequent errors. Hiring contractors unfamiliar with local soil salinity and moisture challenges can lead to safety risks and delays in completing electrical projects.

Helpful?

In Long Beach, electrical maintenance should focus on combating salt air corrosion and high humidity. Inspect all outdoor outlets and fixtures for rust or mineral buildup every three months, and reapply weatherproof sealants annually. Test GFCI outlets monthly, especially in kitchens, bathrooms, and garages. Before storm season, check surge protectors and ensure all grounding rods are secure, as coastal soil can degrade grounding effectiveness over time.
