A meeting with Dennis Kline in his office instantly convinced my wife and I that Kline and Associates would do the total renovation. After a site visit in which we told Dennis what we wanted, he produced a working budget, which we approved. As the work progressed, everything we asked for was slightly overestimated in the budget, which made us happy as we paid the bills. Unforeseen but needed work was accommodated by Kline construction despite their busy schedule, and Paul Lacaille worked some evenings because he had moved on to another site. After consulting with my wife to design the kitchen layout, Kline Construction's cabinet shop and in house painters (wood stain also) produced all of the cabinetry in the kitchen. Bird's eye maple was selected for the cabinet veneer. Paul Lacaille oversaw all of the carpentry and was the first person on the site and the last to leave. He had many great ideas (door to the patio), and his high standards insured that everything was done the way he did it or else... His thoroughness discovered water damage in one of the bedrooms from shoddy repair of the chimney flashing, which the previous owners occluded from us. He had the drywall completely removed to check for damage to the beams of the house and to mitigate any mold. Stuart Evans (roofing) spent almost a whole day to repair the flashing and damage just below. John Petrea (Natural Accents Flooring) and his crew did a wonderful job on the maple flooring. Troy Grady of GSS Construction cut 3 Granite slabs to produce the Blue Luis granite that became the large kitchen island, and countertops. The same granite was used in the downstairs powder room, the second floor bar area, and the cabinet top in the solarium, which also had all the floor tiles replaced to match the maple flooring. In summary, Kline Construction and their talented associates brought out the beauty of the property by taking into account what we wanted and gave us their sage advice on how to carry out the work practically. Most builders can knock out cookie cutter homes. It takes a master builder, however, such as Kline Construction to renovate a home, keeping the best of the old and transforming the home with the owner's vision in mind. To accomplish this work, talent and teamwork are needed, and Kline provides both. Since the initial renovation, we have used Kline construction for smaller jobs and advice, which Dennis and Andy Kline are always willing to provide. All Weather Roofing replaced our shake roof with 50 year composite roofing, which looks great. Rutherford Electric continues to do small and larger jobs for us. We are now planning additional home improvements and have chosen Kline and Associates to do them.

We have been in the house for 5 years - never used the wood stove - we pulled paper and misc stuff out of it and called Old Time Chimney Sweeps to check it out and clean the pipes/chimney. They came in and did a great job of cleaning the chimney/stove. They called in a timely manner to let us know they would be a little late; they arrived and took measures to protect the room from soot and from their footprints. They were friendly, polite, respectful, nonjudgmental, quick, efficient, and thorough. The wood stove is working great! We are thankful!

We first met Stuart Evans (proprietor) when our home was being renovated, and he repaired all of the damaged cedar shake tiles to get us through the winter. During the renovation, extensive stains of the drywall and under-carpet flooring were discovered in one of the bedrooms. Inspection of the roof and neighboring chimney revealed that the chimney flashing that had been caulked by the previous owner rather than properly repaired. Stuart Evans spent many hours rebuilding the chimney flashing to prevent a leak. His charges for these two pieces of work were extremely reasonable, and we indicated that he would be our first choice to replace the old shake roof with composite roofing. In the spring of 2010, we sat down with him and discussed the options. We had consulted Consumer Reports for possible roofing tiles and settled on CertainTeed Landmark TL. He gave us an estimate, which we revised several times to keep the costs down. We got onto his schedule and work started in July. Work on the roof started at 6:30am and ended when the heat almost melted the roof tiles. Every day, his workers cleaned up pieces of wood and any nails (with a magnet) all around the house. Work had to be stopped a couple of days because winds > 30mph kicked-up. During this processes, we also made some midcourse corrections to the plans. Instead of installing a large number of roof vents, which would mar the cedar shake-style roof, we asked Stuart to install ridge vents, and later we would add more soffit venting around the entire house to balance the airflow. Finally the roof was finished, and there were several sheets of plywood left because the work had produced far less than the calculated waste. Everything was done that was in the contract and promised verbally. Stuart Evans inspected all of the work and got our approval. He does quality work for a fair price. Moreover any construction waste is removed so all that his final product shines. I would not hesitate to recommend him. My husband called and talked to Jody Patterson, who made an appointment for later that day to come give us a free estimate of the repair work on our deteriorating chimney. Jody was working on another project in an area 90 miles away at that time, but said he would come by in the early afternoon to give us an estimate. The project he was on took longer than expected, and Jody called us twice to let us know that he was going to be delayed. We appreciated his keeping us in the loop as to when to expect him. He had another larger job coming right up, but since ours was small he was able to work us in by arriving at 7 AM the next day. He arrived promptly, with his brother Joel and a helper. They had the necessary equipment on a flat-bed trailer, including scaffolding (they were careful not to damage our metal roof). By appeance, they did a excellent job, and it didn't take them very long to complete it. When they were finished, they took broom and dustpan and cleaned up their mess. Way to go, guys!!! We had already received another estimate, and Jody Patterson's matched it, so we knew his price was reasonable. We would not hesitate to recommend him or hire him again for another project. Though he lives just south of Yakima, he does work all over Eastern Washington.

Here at Pringles Power Vac we employ the most effective way to clean air ducts and ventilation systems by using Source Removal Methods of cleaning. We use our state of the art truck mounted vacuum to place the system under negative pressure, While the powerful vacuum draws air through the system, agitation devices are inserted into the ducts to dislodge any debris that might be stuck to interior surfaces. The debris then travels down the ducts to the vacuum, which removes it from the system and the home. With each duct cleaning we also clean the furnace, heating coils, evaporator coil, condensate drain pan, fan and fan housing.
"Terrific experience! Scott and AJ arrived promptly as scheduled. Both were very professional and courteous. After a brief site survey and discussion, they quickly and efficiently went to work. Also expertly explained any questions I had. The amount of debris they removed from my HVAC system was astounding, and I've noticed an immediate difference in my central AC performance and lack of dust in the air! After the job, they put everything back together and thoroughly cleaned up. I'm extremely satisfied by the service, and especially with techs Scott and AJ. Great job!"

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts
Walking on any roofing material is dangerous, so you should avoid it if you can, but if the need arises, you should know that you can walk on a concrete tile roof without damaging it. Try to step on the bottom portions of the tile that are supported by the lower layer, and distribute your weight evenly across both feet and hands, if possible.
A shingle roof costs between $7,500 and $24,000 in total. The exact cost depends on the size of your roof and the number of bundles of shingles required. A bundle of shingles typically costs between $40 and $60, though contractors might be able to get a lower price than you’d get buying from a local hardware store.
Unfortunately, there’s no definitive answer to this question, but the wind rating of your shingles will give you a good idea of what wind speeds can damage your roof. If you’re concerned about damage, inspect your roof following windy conditions to look for signs of wind damage to your shingles. When in doubt, consider hiring a professional who fixes roofs to carry out an expert inspection. Remember that hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornadoes are likely to cause the most damage, but even severe thunderstorms can bring winds that compromise your roofing system.
If you need to replace the roof over your attached garage, a roofing contractor can perform what is called a partial roof replacement that only affects garage roofing. However, it's important to keep in mind that only replacing a portion of your roof creates a situation where your roofing has two different lifespans. You will also miss out on the opportunity for a full roof warranty. In some cases, having two different roofs on your home could increase risks for leaks. When replacing the roof on a detached garage, homeowners have the option to make the project bigger by upgrading their home roof alongside their garage roof. However, this isn't necessary if your home has a newer, properly functioning roof. It is better to try to match the new garage roof to your home's existing roof instead.
You may be wondering if you really need the snow removed from your roof. Since most roofs can only handle 20 pounds per square foot of snow accumulation, there is a tipping point when you are suddenly at risk of roof collapse. This can cause a lot of damage, not just to your home, but to your belongings, too. It also poses a physical danger to your family. Also, a lot of snow on a roof makes it more susceptible to ice dams, leaks, and water damage.
