Very professional and responsive to all of our requests. They went above and beyond what was required to make sure our extra requests were met. Everyone who came was pleasant, and the work was beautiful. We were very pleased, and especially enjoyed working with Tyler. He is a big asset to the company, very thorough and organized and just nice to work with. We would definitely recommend Baxter and would hire them again.

After a very large tree fell on my house, the insurance adjuster suggested Baxter Construction. Having never worked with a contractor before and having heard more than a few cautionary stories, I was concerned how the process and relationship would go, but I am so impressed with every aspect of this company! The repairs were both interior and exterior, so there have been a number of workers inside and outside of my house. Without exception, every person who's come to my home has been professional, personable, attentive to detail, and easy to work with. This is true for both Baxter's own employees and the subcontractors they hire. They've all been top notch. The quality and efficiency of the work has been beyond my expectations. The responsiveness to all of my concerns has been remarkable for speed and attentiveness. Working with Baxter has been an excellent experience! It's a first-rate company with first-rate people. I would absolutely hire them again and would recommend them to others without reservation.

They cut approx. 10' of guttering, and capped the ends. They removed and installed 30' 3" new fascia (1" X 6"), & painted to match existing. They hauled away all garbage and cleaned area. Their job waste prep the outside of our house for installation of new patio cover. They were very professional.

BAXTER Contruction replaced two doors for us. We were robbed by a person kicking in our front door... we decided to replace both doors with new doors that were fiberglass and with deadbolts. They did a great job and we were very satisfied. We now feel safe again! Our doors were a special order size...glad we went through BAXTER

They were good to work with. They were communicative, and they did what they said they were going to do. With regard to price, it was an insurance job. As far as I'm concerned, if the insurance company was happy, I was happy; it's fine.

In the fall of 2009, a contractor that we had used previously offered to build a pergola for us. His price was very low and we did not question why it was so low. He told us that his reputation with the county was so good that the county had agreed to not make him get a permit in advance of the work. He completed the pergola and was paid.
Questions from the County came immediately. The problems were numerous and serious. The contractor blustered and threatened. It was our fault he claimed. We discovered that he was unlicensed and uninsured. In addition he was being sued by Labor & Industries as well as other taxing agencies. In desperation, we contacted Baxter in June 2010.
Baxter had a crew on site within 24 hours. They met with the county and came up with solutions. The crew was competant, prompt and courteous. They competed repairs and the structure passed inspection. The work took about 2 weeks.

If I had any negative comments it would be that they were expensive. We weren't in a situation to argue price, however, and were quite happy with their work. All in all, a good experience and I would recommend them.
I do have a brief epilogue:
In January of 2012 I asked for an estimate for the installation of a propane fireplace. The estimator gave me some information on building codes that turned out to be almost completely wrong. When I contacted Baxter with questions about their representation of code, they became angry and ended contact. Baxter apparently doesn't like being challenged.

Response from BAXTER CONSTRUCTION LLC
"I am sorry that you feel that one of my employees misinformed you regarding code on the fireplace. I would be happy to talk with you regrading that and would like to hear more about your phone conversation. My name is Darren and I am the General Manager here at Baxter. Your complete satisfaction is a major part of my job. Please call the office @ 509-452-2464 and ask for Darren."

They did an excellent job. They were polite, prompt and professional. They are a bit more expensive then others but we were very happy and appreciative of them.

We had a fire about 5 years ago and they would be here maybe a couple of hours or maybe not for the next few days.  The workers did a bad job and I had to re-grout the tiles in the kitchen because they didn’t do a good enough job.  We had an extra window left over and they charged us over $500 just to put it in.  We found out that we could have had it done for $50.  They gouge you a lot.  We didn’t know any better and went with what the insurance guy said to do.  I wouldn’t recommend them even to my worst enemy.  Every time I go to clean the door, I noticed that more paint is coming off them.  Their price was too high.  We found out a whole bunch later that if we had gone with others they would have been a lot cheaper.  We bought all the stuff and it was pretty much labor we used them for.  Their quality is not good.  They did our hot tub room and the tiles are all cracked now.  I am going to have to have it redone.  They turned up right after the fire, but it took 3 months to what they did.  There were several days when they didn’t show up.  When they did show up, they showed up at 7:30 which was good.  We had to live in a trailer for 3 months till they did this.  If you call them, they might not call you back.

Baxter was far from the low bidder, but their solution was far superior to other proposals (beems supported by 4x4s on concrete pads). I had a friend who's a building inspector call Gus (Baxter's Project Estimator) to go over their plan. He told me afterwards that I could get the work done cheaper, but it wouldn't be as good. As we're planning to live in this house for many years to come, we decided to go with the best fix. From the first time I called Baxter and set up an inspection with Mari, I had nothing but positive contacts with them. Everyone was very professional and pleasant to deal with. Gus was very good about explaining what they were doing and why they were doing it. A personal matter took Gus off the project a couple days, but Brice filled in seamlessly. Toward the end of the project, we met with Gus and the jobsite forman Jeff. They took great care to explain every facet of the project to our satisfaction, including a guided tour of the crawlspace. During the work, there were no surprises (rather than the plumbing that wasn't Baxter's fault) and everything went according to schedule. They cleaned up afterwards and even improved the access to the crawlspace. I feel we were treated very well by Baxter. I gave them a "B" for price because we never really got an apples-to-apples comparison bid. Several times I was told by Baxter employees that they aren't the cheapest contractor in the Valley, so I took them at their word. Then again, you get what you pay for and I think we got a lot from Baxter.
