We got hit with a shocking discovery that our system would need to be fully replaced with a specialized system built for high water table in order to sell our house and pass inspection. Aaron was compassionate and super responsive, took care of us every step of the way, explained the process and really put us at ease by providing updates, photos, videos and managing applications and permits with the Health District on our behalf (we were out of country at the time). He even worked with us on payment since we were limited on funds until the house closed. He also works with an in-house designer and coordinated pumping and inspection. No. Sump pumps have different capacities, which refers to the volume of water that they can remove. They also come in various horsepower ratings, which measure the size of the pump’s motor. For many homes, 1/3 horsepower is enough. But if you live in an area that floods often, you might need a more powerful model.

Thankfully, you do have a few sump pump backup options in case it fails. One option is a battery-powered backup sump pump. Another option is using a portable backup generator as a power supply for your sump pump. Unlike a battery-powered backup which has limited power, a generator can run around the clock for as long as you need it. 

Or you can opt for a water-powered backup pump, which uses your home’s water supply as a source of power. However, this may not be the best option if you find your house frequently has low water pressure.

Sump pumps prevent basement flooding, reduce humidity, and protect against water damage.

You should be fine. Most high-grade grinder pumps have a 24-hour holding capacity within the tank. You can continue to use the facilities so long as the power outage does not stretch into days. In a worst-case scenario, attach a generator to the grinder pump, providing it has sufficient electric capacity.

Common problems include motor failure, clogged discharge lines, and float switch malfunctions. Regular maintenance prevents many issues.
