"You should probably add 4-6 weeks to the expected delivery date if you expect to need the "enclosed" hardware. I received the blinds in the estimated time, but it came without the required hardware. I have made 4 calls (at least) over several weeks, but the hardware is nowhere in site. It is clear that SelectBlinds.com is a marketing company only has outsourced all production and fulfillment to third parties and evidently has a difficult time coordinating these type of customer service issue. Extremely frustrating that my blinds have been sitting in the floor for over a month and all I need is a few screws. Happy to go to Home Depot to get the screws, but SelectBlinds can't even tell me what sizes I need."

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

The disadvantages of putting plastic over your windows are that they are time-consuming to install and don’t always have the aesthetic that you may be looking for. The plastic is lightweight and not at all sturdy, so if you have kids or pets, the plastic can rip easily, meaning you’ll need to replace it often. It also doesn’t allow for the freedom of window movement that window film or shades offer. The single advantage that plastic window coverings have is that they are inexpensive and can be simple to install.

Storm windows are placed outside of already-installed windows. Regular windows are installed into a frame, offering a barrier to the elements but no special protection. Storm windows add extra protection to regular windows, reduce noise, and improve insulation. Replacing a regular window involves a different process than installing a storm window. 

Windows may need to be replaced after a hurricane if they’re severely damaged. For example, if you have windows with blown-out glass and a cracked frame, they will need to be replaced. It’s a similar story if you have windows with noticeable water damage. However, if your window pane has small cracks but the frame is still in good condition, you may be able to repair the window.

Removing a window isn’t a very long process. Depending on several factors, it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to upwards of an hour. The size of the window greatly impacts the time it takes to replace it. Accessibility is another big component. If it’s hard to reach the window or reaching it is dangerous, anticipate it taking longer. 

Lastly, if the old window is in poor condition, it could take longer to remove it safely—especially if the frame has wood rot and is structurally unsound.

On average, bay windows are three times as expensive as a standard double-hung window, so up-front cost is a major drawback. They also let in more natural light than most other types of windows, which can be a positive thing, but it can also lead to more aggressive fading and UV damage to furniture and flooring. Larger windows allow for more heat transfer, so bay windows tend to be less energy-efficient due to their size. Finally, window treatments for bay windows can be more challenging to find, and they’re more expensive than those you’d place over standard-sized windows.
