They even made sure the giant tarp I bought (Kevlar, highly recommended) was secured over the wound. I'd call these guys in a minute if we ever need them. Excellent work. Rafters were broken, and plywood on the outside of the house needed to be repaired. Contractor was promised to complete the needed repairs quickly so the roofers could do their part, but did not arrive when expected, and delayed a few times. The roofers completed their part, but we were still left with a hole in the side of the house. Once the hole was finally repaired (a week later than expected) my husband noted that he could see light through the wall from the attic. In addition, he left a large pile of debris behind that was supposed to be cleared. (Which is now buried in snow).

Hurricane Shutters questions, answered by experts
Yes, by reinforcing hinges and latches to prevent unauthorized entry.
During hurricanes or other major storms, high winds can cause objects and debris to fly through the air, which can break your windows. Depending on how strong the storm is, the winds themselves may be strong enough to break your windows, too. Investing in storm windows or hurricane shutters can help protect you against potential window breakage.
Considering the advantages and disadvantages of hurricane shutters can help you decide if they’re the right choice for your home. Some pros and cons include:
Pros
Protection against flying debris during hurricanes and other strong storms
Many available styles
Relatively easy to remove compared to impact windows
Customizable to fit your home
Cons
Expensive cost
Require maintenance
Take up significant space
Many require you to go outside to operate
If a window breaks during a hurricane, the first thing to do is get away from it, shut the door to the room, and move to a different part of your home. Ideally, you should wait out the storm in a room that doesn’t have any windows. Afterward, safely throw out the broken glass while wearing gloves and call a window replacement professional to discuss your options.
The type of hurricane shutters you install will play a large role in the overall cost of the project.
Some of the most common types of hurricane shutters include:
Accordion hurricane shutters: $15–$30 per square foot plus labor
Roll-down hurricane shutters: $25–$60 per square foot plus labor
Bahama shutters: $25–$35 per square foot plus labor
Colonial shutters: $25–$35 per square foot plus labor
Plywood: $2–$6 per square foot plus labor
Storm panels: $10–$20 per square foot plus labor
Fabric storm shutters: $5–$15 per square foot plus labor
