Castle Fresh House Cleaning

I love Castle Fresh! Brian (the owner) is an amazing person to work with. He takes pride in screening his employees and making sure they are trained before sending them to your home. I have used several different maids over the years and they all did a great job. They bring their own equipment (except toilet brushes) and will use their products or yours. The maids are pleasant, hard working, and try very hard to please you. Emma will work with you on scheduling a service and she tries very hard to meet your needs. I find their pricing very reasonable and I do tip the maids. I highly recommend them.

I rescheduled with Castle Fresh for 4 hours clean after the lock downs eased up. As "punishment" for leaving them during the lock down months, Brian charged me extra for 4 cleanings. Then the price would go back down to the usual amount. The first cleaner spent 3.5 hours cleaning two bathrooms, one quarter bath, two bedrooms, a small laundry room and the hallway. She then spent the remaining half hour poorly cleaning the kitchen. She left the office, dining room, living room, den and hallway untouched. Castle Fresh did reimburse me for the third of the house she didn't clean. I don't know what she was doing for 3.5 hours, but it wasn't cleaning. And afterwards, I discovered some small things missing. Hmmm.... Second cleaner was great. No issues. Brian touts that the company is ready to meet client needs. I am allergic to all chemicals, cleaning supplies, smoke and more. Since I am handicapped, and have difficulty sleeping, I have repeatedly requested cleaning people come after 9:30 am. Last cleaner showed up at 9 am. Husband answered the door and said she wasn't who we were expecting and it was too early. We weren't quite ready. I asked her if she could go have a cup of coffee and come back in 30 minutes. She gave me the pitch about wanting to keep customers happy and our needs came first, blah, blah, blah. She wanted to go outside to call her manager. I told her to leave the cleaning supplies in the house. When she returned, she walked near me and I could smell that she just reeked of cigarette smoke. I asked her if she was a smoker. She said yes and that she was going to leave because I wasn't happy. She chose to leave and did. Castle Fresh ONLY takes credit card for payment. You cannot write a check. Brian decided that I had told the cleaner to leave and not clean, even though I had tried to prevent her from doing so. Because he had my credit card number, he charged me $49. So unfair. She lied to him and blamed me for her decision to leave our home. I would NOT recommend this cleaning company.

I have been using Castle Fresh for 6 years, and I continue to use their cleaning services on a bi-weekly basis. Brian has always been very easy to contact and communicate with - and emails have been responded to within 24 hours without exception. I have had a number of cleaning crews over the years and I would say 95% of them were top notch. The outlier 5% was still average / good, but 95% of the time my home has been cleaned very well with no concerns. I absolutely recommend Castle Fresh for weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or 'move out' cleaning.

We booked a "deep clean" of our small rancher for $170, when the cleaner arrives, halfway through the house says we'll need to pay more to complete the job. The person we talk to says it will be another $40. Brian states that we agreed to 4.5 hours and it would take more than this, and claims this is in the job contract. When we looked, it says "a certain amount of time." I have never used such a shady cleaning company! When I pointed out that this is an incredibly sleezy and unethical practice i have never come across before he states that "the Amazon generation doesn't believe they need to pay for anything." I have been paying and generously tipping people working on our house all week as we get it ready for showing and this is the ONLY company we've ever worked with on the house that has prompted me to write a negative review. Please note also it looks to me like the owner wrote multiple of the five star reviews here. Absolutely crooked business, find someone else. Also at one point he tried to claim the service might be taking longer because the house is dirty. We had Southeby's photography done this week, professional carpet and window cleaning, all clutter is gone, I personally vacuumed and dusted last week. Give me a break, what a crook.

I have the "Exclusive Service" which means that I get the same people every time they come. I have found that this is a bit more expensive but it works the best for us because my husband and I both work from home. I don't remember exactly how many years I have had this service but I intend on keeping Castle Fresh for a very long time. Getting started went a little slow in the beginning for us to find the right person for us but now that we have found the person we like the best it has been great. Even in our searching process for the right person we had no complaints about the work that was done. We have tried at least 2 other cleaning services and none compare to the work done by Castle Fresh. Their checklist is extensive and if there is time left they will do extra cleaning like the inside of the refrigerator or sweeping the front porch. That is an added bonus!! The time they stay is the time you paid for--no rushing to get out early. Castle Fresh comes every 2 weeks. One time we have the deep cleaning done that I described (5 hours for one person) and the next time I have just a touch up in the master bedroom, bathrooms and kitchen (2 hours for one person).

GREAT! Kimberly was on time, very professional, and very thorough. I've had other cleaning services for various jobs, and always go through the house afterwards seeing how they cut corners -- now I'm looking around, and all I see is sparkling clean surfaces. I am so pleased with Kimberly's work that I've recommended CF and Kimberly to my mother for regular housecleaning.
