He informed that I needed to go buy some Chase at the local hardware store & take care of it myself with a fertilizer spreader. As it turned out, I not only handled my own issue in about 1/2 hour, but I spent only $25 for the product and hand spreader vs. The $175 and $225 estimates I received from the other folks. "Because of the various additions to this house over time, working on anything down there is a challenge.  They arrived on time both days and set immediately to work. They were very task oriented, yet very friendly, and answered all our questions.
The dryer vents into the crawl space and caused a real problem over time.  When the various additions were built, we asked the contractors if it could be made to vent outside.  Each looked into the problem and determined that the space was to small to allow for the bend of the vent pipe.  This group looked into it and determined that if a chunk of wall board was removed the bend could be accommodated. They did the necessary work and vented it outside w/o charge! 
Kudos to Hernnando who when working out side and having to tear some things up, assured us it would put back as good as new and it was, in fact, much better than that.
