"My husband and I are extremely happy with the finished product. Todd and his crew cleaned up every day. They were perfectionists in their installation taking the time that was necessary to do the job correctly. They were so quiet that there were times you did not even know they were in the house. The price was exactly the same as the bid. Todd is a talented craftsman who cares about the final product and respects the needs and wishes of the people who engage his services. We would strongly encourage others to use his services."

"Getting the install scheduled was difficult: our calls were often unreturned and when we called on our own, we were not able to schedule the install. It wasn't until we threatened to cancel that a date was scheduled for installation. When the patio was installed, there were no borders to keep the pacers in place, leaving us to perform that work on our own. He have also had to add an additional 3 bags of sand to fill the cracks and complete that patio. The pacers look great and the work was done very quickly but the challenges in scheduling and the incomplete work preclude us from using this business again in the future."

The work done was first class all the way and the result is beautiful.  The old driveway, stairs and landing were broken up by tree roots and water problems. Sione and his crew were easy to work with and they kept a tidy job site.  The project took nearly 3 weeks to complete.  The final project cost more than initially bid because of problems that became apparent after they removed the old concrete and vegetation.  We also changed from a brushed finish to the stamped colored finish with a sealer coat..

The driveway removed was more than 4 inches thick in places which was the thickness  covered by the contract.  Some places were as much as 8 inches thick.  When the driveway was removed, it was apparent that the existing drainage system under the driveway was not functioning properly so new drainage pipe was installed.  The initial bid included installing a new French drain along one side of the driveway.  The old drainage system and the new French drain were connected together at the bottom of the driveway and the water was exited to the street about 20 feet below the driveway so all the water problems should be corrected.

When the bushes between the driveway and a rockery were removed, it was obvious that part of the rockery was in danger of falling.  So about 30 feet of the rockery was knocked down and reset.  The rocks were very large, much more than 2 person rocks.  Sione brought in a rockery expert to guide the process of excavating the bank and resetting the rocks.

After 2 weeks of prep work including installing the forms and rebar, the concrete pour occurred.  Sione sold us on the idea of putting a stained, stamped finish on instead of a brushed finish.  The concrete crew consisted of about 8 people the day of the pour and they worked all day.  This was about twice the size of the normal crew.  The stain and sealer were added after the concrete cured about 10 days.

Jay  Construction was not the least expensive bid, but I am glad we had them do the work.  The only misunderstanding I had was whether the sales tax was included in the original bid.  I thought it was, but the written contract did not specifically state that, so I paid the tax.

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Whether a natural pool is worth it depends on several factors because they cost more than traditional pools. Many people opt for natural pools because they enjoy swimming in natural bodies of water such as lakes. Also, if you're environmentally conscious, a natural pool is going to be a much more attractive option than a traditional pool.

Moreover, for people with chemical sensitivities, a natural pool is a great solution since the water doesn’t contain chlorine.

Regular water testing, debris removal, and seasonal maintenance ensure healthy water quality.

Though there are a lot of factors that go into caring for a koi pond, the most important maintenance you can do is frequent water checks using a koi pond test strip that checks the water for dangerous conditions.  In addition to regular pond maintenance costs, you’ll also need to winterize your koi pond if you live in a colder area.

Algae growth is a common issue for misters, but you can do several things to prevent it. First, use a sealed water tank with distilled or filtered water to fuel your misters. Second, blow out the misters after every use so no water is left in the tubing. Third, thoroughly clean the misting system every several weeks of use at minimum during the warmest months. Third, wherever possible positioning tubing and the water tank away from direct sunlight and in the coolest areas possible.

A good rule of thumb is to change 5% to 15% of your koi pon’s water every week. Partial water changes help keep your koi healthy, and replacing small amounts at a time prevents causing stress for the fish.
