We had some concerns about the large amount of deposit that he required. He did explain that obtaining a large deposit has become commonplace among contractors in the area so they will be paid. So we went ahead and sent him a check for the deposit. Once he had received the payment, he started the work within a couple of days and was completely finished in less than two weeks.
